Im a fan of Pavlik. But id say Calzaghes list is alot better than Pavlik's.

I am not a huge Calzaghe fan. But when I see people say stuff like "he's not top 100P4P"...I really wonder if they've actually sat down and come up with a top 100p4p to where they were able to reasonably list 100 other fighters without considering putting Calzaghe's name in it

Calzaghe but he still ain't **** in the ATG rankings. I pick Pavlik cause he fought guys in their prime and accepted a fight with P Will( even though he finally pussied out)

And when you have 21-title defenses. And undefeated after beating fighters like Hopkins, Kessler, Lacy, Eubank, Bika. So Calzaghe and Hopkins hold record title defenses in their weight-classes yet they're not good enough to be on the top 100 p4p list? That is what you're saying not me.
a highly controversial split decision over a 44 year old, legend or not. isnt very impressive. simply being undefeated doesnt make someone a good fighter. everytime lacy or kessler fought a world class oponent they got taken to school, to this day neighter one beat a top fighter.

21 title defenses in your backyard of the weakest belt in the weakest division against the weakest possible oposition isnt all that impressive eighter. it shows alot of consistency, but at a low level.

hopkins is a top 100 fighter no doubt, but he holds wins over tarver, trinidad, pavlik etc to name a few. guys like joe lipsey, keith holmes, john david jackson and william joppy are all better fighters than kessler, lacy, bika, veit etc.. yet those wins dont even get mentioned, hopkins has a real resume thought. and a real legacy.

Calzaghe at the moment, but Pavlik still has some time to change the tables. A win over Williams would help.

I agree. I don't care if you think I hate Calzaghe, but he didn't fight anyone live. You don't see people bragging Sven Otke's resume and in fact, his resume resembles Calzaghe's allot. Is a SD win in a fight you get dropped vs a 43 year old enough to get you on any permanent list for HoF boxing? I say no, because then you would have THOUSANDS of fighters there. There are already some fighters who are undefeated, 10 years younger than Calzaghe was when he retired and with matching and better resumes!! Are they in the HoF too?

You can't say Calzaghe makes the p4p without resorting to ****** arguments and his resume is very tied to Kelly's at this point. Thing is, Kelly still has time. Not saying he will end up bettering that but he's also not on many p4p lists atm.

I mean that having a record of title defensive at 168. Does not hold the same historic value at having a record of title defensive at 160.

                      160 record>168 record.
