FROCH CALLS OUT CALZAGHE-Will Calzaghe come back 2010?

I like Froch, but I think Joes career is complete, and speaks for itself.

Zags and Lennox should stay retired as the best fighters all-time in their respective weight classes.

I think Calzaghe shoulda fight one,two primes elite fighters more to be a certified,recognized ATG.I'm not sayin he isn't.BUT...

I think a win over Adamek or a win over Dawson would have been the real Cherry. something is missing on Joe's record.
A win over a prime fighter who isn't one dimensionnal(Dawson).Or a win against a pure beast(Adamek AT 200 lbs,(his real weight)shout out to dawson).

I mean,it's hard to say Joe isn't an ATG.He's the greatest 168 pounder of all time.21 defenses,undefeated,some closed fights but he never really get beat.

But,in Joe's era 168 was weak,period.

When you look at what happened to Kess against a Rookie(bullied,lost every rounds and get stopped).
And when you think Kess is maybe the better,more accomplished prime fighter he beat.
Of course,I think Kess career was at a dead point,he never showed good game after the Calzaghes loss,Ward is gold.
But WHATEVER Mikkel get humiliated by a Rookie.It's like that.

Calzaghe beat a lot of decent challengers like Bika,Pudwill,Brewer a lot of paper champs ala Lacy,Kess and Byron Mitchell.

Don't get me wrong,HE BEAT THEM SO EASY,that I'm convinced Calz is a damn great fighter.

It's sad because Joe retired a lil too earlier cuz would have bitchlslap Dawson by wild UD in early 2009,now it's too late.

Here are the 3 fights Calzaghe needs to complete to gain his respect.

Rematch with Hopkins (first match was SD and Hopkins was never hurt)
Andre Ward (Calzaghe and Ward both beat Kessler, we need a showdown)
Arthur Abraham (best SMW in the world, and probably winner of Super Six)

No,he had nothing to gain in a rematch with Hopkins.

1.That mother****er of Nard is always dangerous.
2.It was a SD but not a robbery,just at worst a "could have gone either way".So a win.
3.Hopkins was old,you have nothing to gain in rematching an old but still dangerous dude.

I think it's too late,but he should have fight Dawson and maybe put a first loss on Erdeis record or a second on Adamek's.His legacy would have been totally completed.
Actually,his ATG legacy isn't like I said.
He's a proven modern great and it's not bad.He's great and his haters on outube ala Bonsinno,Primeraprime are unfair and one sided,in denial.

ATG its tough to say since 168 was pretty much weak,especially his WBO mandatories,and his 175 campain is against two vets.

His SD against B HOP,Reid,his wins over Roy and Kess are doubtfull.

Not much to gain in fighting Froch, unless he happened to win the super 6, which he won't. And Calzaghe would be too old and inactive by that point.

Right on. I really miss him. Fantastic fighter, and so exciting too - always came to fight, even with his brittle hands, he was always the one relentlessly pushing the action


As for the thread, no. Calzaghe is staying retired, that's a certainty. And Froch's damn lucky that's the case

Even froch has realised how silly the lil obsession was.
