Agreed its not breaking news he has done it for a while now. But with the new year coming i am wondering if there is a possibility of calzaghe to come out of retirment? I guess this is a speculative thread. Not much different than a thread about who wins in their prime like Trinidad vs Pac, or SRL vs Pavlik, as that is impossible to happen. But my thread is possible but unlikely that Calzaghe will come out of retirment. SRL came out of a 2 and a half year hiatus to fight Hagler, so its not impossible.

That's why Calzaghe should come back and shut that mother****er.
I don't really like Froch, and the funniest beatdown he could take would be from Calzaghe.
Bitchslapped around and outquicked, outsmarted for 12 rounds ala Lacy.
It would be funny.
I'm not a big Calz dude,Calzaghe record isn't that great but his fight game was good.
He ripped Lacy and Kessler when they were undefeated like two **********s in a dark street and took their belts.
And both weren't the sames after that fight.Especially Lacy who was completely shot unable to drop a journeyman.
Calzaghe won two lineal titles,168,and 175 in a closed fight against a solid champion,he deserves props.
Hopkins maybe was 43 but he humiliated Tarver and UD Winky in his two previous fights.
Calzaghe fought a lot of bums,Roy was shot,Hopkins and Eubank weren't at their peak.
Pretty much protected record.
He shoulda beat Dawson and/or Adamek before retirement,it was just two fight away to have an ATG cemented legacy.
Bottom line,he's acually the greatest 168 pounders of all time.
Not bad,but one of the weakest division Period.
Ward will beat his legacy at 168 if he dont move early to 175.Comment

Here are the 3 fights Calzaghe needs to complete to gain his respect.
Rematch with Hopkins (first match was SD and Hopkins was never hurt)
Andre Ward (Calzaghe and Ward both beat Kessler, we need a showdown)
Arthur Abraham (best SMW in the world, and probably winner of Super Six)Comment

I reckon you took that statement too literally. I always took it as tongue in cheek, it was said because Jones and Hopkins were calling themselves legends, which may be true, but anyway. Just a bit of rivalry, not to be taken to heart.
As for the thread question... nah, Joe ain't coming back.
