Pavlik is a 160 version of Kessler. Only throws a 1-2 and has a decent right uppercut. Throw him in there with a mobile fighter that will not gas in 6 rounds, and has a bit of power to keep him honest and he loses. Put him in there with a brute with 1 punch KO power, respectable boxing skills and solid defense and he gets KOed. Put him in there with a brawler or a semi alright boxer that isn't too durable, and he will knock him out.

One dementional, his D needs to be worked on, he has good pop and can fight close/inside but as soon as he faces a slick fighter or someone who gives him angles, he will get beat. Hopkins made easy work of him, Taylor nearly had him out in the 1st fight and was up on the scores.

Nothing against him, I just don't see him being as great as you see him.
      Everyone got their own opinions...
AA does neither one of these things.....

AA isn't the only guy at 160 I think, plus AA is at 168 now.

Thing is, Pavlik will get schooled easily (again) by a Slick fighter with some what of a chin.

The lesson 43 year old Hopkins put on him, ****...

PS: Paulie would tag him with everything he throws.

Pavlik stood in front of Espino because he knew Espino couldnt hurt him.... He would not do that against AA....

Pavlik would stay at a distance against AA...

Maybe, maybe not, who knows? It's a shame Pavlik didn't want to fight him, would have been a good fight.

I have never seen pavlik respect someones power yet. Luckily miranda can not fight backing up, and Palik did not respect his power. Abe would keep his guar up, pick everything off, and knock Pavlik out

Maybe Pavlik just wanted to phonebooth the guy and make it fun against an opponent with little punching power? Pavlik seemed to be having a good time in there. It is hard to be a defensive wizard when engaged in a phonebooth. That is not Pavlik's typical style either.

You cannot gauge that fight with how he would fight Williams or Abraham. he would definitely fight those two differently. Pavlik is not some dumb rock like so many in here want to believe. He can show diversity. He had one fight where he got beat up against a super crafty veteran so everyone decides to write him off.

He got to the championship level by beating tough competition. If he ****** so bad he would have never made it to that level. He got there with toughness, power and some decent skills. His biggest drawback is his slowness. His slack of speed is his Achilles heel, not skills.
