No argument here, and if Calzaghe had fought Dawson, instead of Bhop, people would be claiming he ducked Hopkins.

He retired cuz Dawson, Ward, and Dirrell were coming up and he saw the writing on the wall. He was lucky to fight during a soft period in SMW history. Once it ended, he would have been exposed for what he really was, a nobody.
I don't know if he did or not but he's 49-0. Floyd need 10 more fight to be the greatest.

If Floyd fights Pac and Mosely and beats both decisively he will go down rated very highly on the atg list. Non hardcore boxing fans don't even know who the hell Joe Calzaghe is. Let alone rate him higher than Floyd on the atg list. His career defining victory was over Mikkel Kessler enough said.

paralleled careers if you ask me......................... just right now, floyd has a chance to separate himself and make more out of his career, instead of retiring and not fighting the fights the people want to see. i believe there is and was more out there for calzaghe to make a real statement in his career. only two fights in the States, he was just starting to get known over here and could've made a huge positive impact on his career and been a multi-continent champ, revered by both europe and usa. instead he calls it a career when the real tests, the real fights, and chance to become and ATG was available, but instead he retires, says there is nothing left to do, and plays it safe, because it's all about protecting his " 0 ".

floyd is the same, only, he right now, has a chance to be bigger and be an ATG, it just depends if he's going to play the calzaghe game or if he's going to actually make a run at being the best ever by fighting the fights the FANS want to see!!!!!?????

This site has some of the worst threads about "boxing". It's getting ridiculous.

I think he's 46-0 , pimp. Based on Mayweather's own logic, he is better.

Joe's biggest wins are are a SD over 43 year old Hop, a shot Roy, A UD over Kessler, who was dominated by Ward, and a decision over Lacy, who was not the fighter he was thought to be.

but he is a HOF fighter.
