      Calzaghe is HOF-er. A sure fire HOF'er...

No he retired because he was old and his hands where fcuked, he said back in june 2007 he was retiring in three fights, and he did.

Who where Dawson, Ward and Dirrell in 2007?

        Answer nobody.

Hell Ward and Dirrell were nobodies when Calzaghe retired. But I think Floyd is greater, based on resume, skills, impact on the sport, accomplishments, etc.

Ward and Dirrell were prospects fighting them made no sense. I don't know why he brought up Ward or Dirrell.

Dawson was a somebody though. Dawson was a top contender at the time and threat. He already had a win over Adamek. He was a risky Joe knew that. Lets not get a carried away and call him a nobody. You knew who he was.

And, Froch at the time was also somebody he could of fought before retiring. Which IMO would of been a great fight in Wales. As a farewell fight to his fans. Go out in a fight in Wales IMO would of been great for him and his fans. And, that should of been against Froch.

Oh for sure, Floyd is better than Calzaghe based on his 130-135 career alone. plus he's more skilled but to say Calzaghe retired to avoid fighting two guys 11 fights into thier career to flat out ******ed.

Dawson was a name in the last 3 months of Calzaghe's career, no one mentioned his name at all until Hopkins beat the living **** out of Pavlik. thats a full 18 months after Calzaghe stated when he would retire.

Dawson became a name and a true contender and a title holder when he beat adamek. Calzaghe hadn't even fought Manfredo yet. You can't say Dawson was a nobody. Justin Williams is a nobody. Nobody knows who he is. But, boxing fans knew who Dawson was. When Joe fought Hopkins. Dawson already had wins over Adamek and Johnson. Before Calzaghe fought Hopkins. Dawson had wins over Adamek and Johnson. That is 2 good names in your resume. You can not be a nobody. Before Calzaghe fought Jones. Dawson had wins over Adamek, Johnson, and Tarver. You can't be a nobody. I promise you when Calzaghe beat Manfredo he knew who Dawson was. You can not call Chad a nobody.
