See when you say stuff like that it makes me think you never saw Duran fight at LW bro. And, Floyd had 5 fights at LW. And, scored 2 KO's in 5 fights. Agustus lasted 9rds. And, he couldn't even KO Castillo or Sosa yet you think he can stop Duran? It just makes no sense to me. Especially Duran at LW? Where he was such a beast. And, maybe the best LW ever.

He comes to the ring with a smile on his face becaus he loves what he does..
He comes to fight..not box and pot shot..Williams comes to fight.
He doesnt run in the ring and he doesnt duck anybody.
He has a good chin, a crowd pleasing style and he never stops throwing punches.
After the Martinez fight the first thing out his mouth was.......
"I dont look for easy fights, I look for the hard fights and I'd love to re-match Martinez"
Most people avoid fighters who cause them match-up problems.....Williams goes TOWARDS those fights..Quitana, Martinez...etc...
He also has his eyes set on Pavlik the 160 Pound Champion.

Paul Williams is a cool, entertaining fighter.
But let's just recap what we already know because it's been said time and time again: Some fans hate on boxers because they have a few annoying fans or because they believe the Media Machine is serving them hype and they don't like that. I don't believe you should automatically dislike a fighter because of their fans, but everybody thinks their own way.
Now what I don't get is why some fans can't handle anything bad ever said about their favorite fighter. This is a sport. It's a competition. There's supposed to be opposing sides. Why people want to "protect" their favorites so much is kinda weird. I can see standing up for your favorite from time to time. But obsessing about it is different.
Another thing we all know: Racism/Racial Pride is real. You might not agree with it and might think it has no business in boxing, but it does exist. The Internet makes it easy for people with fücked-up views to spout racist ****. The comments for boxing videos on youtube almost always deteriorate into racist name-calling ******ity. Some people get so upset with this that they start thinking if somebody doesn't like a white, black, latino, or asian fighter, then they must automatically be racist. Just because it might be true some time, doesn't make it true every time.
In boxing, men beat each other up. I can see why racial / nationalistic pride comes into play sometimes. But you'll hear fans say the more you get into boxing, the less this becomes a factor. I tend to agree with that.
But because boxing is two people fighting I think it's natural for somebody to root against a guy because of their personalities or other non-boxing attributes. How many times have you wished some ******* on the street got punched in the face for being an *******? Maybe you haven't, but I have.
Sometimes people just rub you the wrong way and you don't even really know them. I might catch hell for this, but there's something about Andre Ward I don't like. Just being honest. It's nothing to do with his fighting style (although I tend to think he looks horrible when he switches to southpaw... I don't know, it just irks me), but really I just don't like the guy that much for some reason. It could just be the smirk on his face sometimes. I also don't like Calzaghe mainly because of his fight style and the way he acted in the Jones fight, but he's annoying (and delusional) outside the ring too, IMO.
Now do I automatically hate black and white fighters? No. I just don't like Ward and Calzaghe's personalities all that much.Comment
