In Kobe, Japan, WBC bantamweight champion Hozumi Hasegawa stopped Alvaro Perez in the fourth round to retain his title. Two left hands put Perez down and the fight was stopped at 2:38 of the round. Perez was able to stun the champion in the second but couldn't recover after getting in trouble in the fourth.

I hope Hasegawa get's some big title unification fights in 2010. Maybe some exposure in the states will help, although he is a huge attraction in Japan. Who knows?

            I pity the fool...

Tell him to fight outside of Japan so he can get exposed...

            Yohnny Perez would beat him
            Fernando Montiel would beat him
            Joseph Agbeko would beat him

I'd love to see him fight Moreno, but he'll probably go up to junior featherweight sometime in the near future.

I wish there was more demand for the lighter weight class fights in the US so I could watch these fights.

That being said, Hasegawa is a machine. The spread on this fight had Hasegawa at like -1700 and I thought that was being generous to Perez.

rofl at hasegawa being hurt in round 2.......perez landed a good punch in the middle of the round, but hasegawa was tagging him a lot just 20 seconds later.....and when hasegawa almost went down it was because perez came in too wild and their feet got tangled up.....

Hasegawa has found himself as a fighter but I do agree that his level of competition has to go up and he has to come out of Japan. There is enough money overthere that he might not entertain it unless he has bigger plans. He is a busy fighter with snapping punches that can give any fighter a lot of problems
