So it is not like he was old or shot.
Barrera wasnt prepared for Pac because he was a last second replacement. like 2 or 3 weeks before the fight or something like that. He wasnt able to prepare.....and a fighter like Pac you MUST prepare for.

Lol now that i think of it Pac hasn't beaten anyone in their prime really...Barerra prime? no...Morales prime? no...JMM prime??? possibly..but i think he lost both those fights so eh?...Hatton prime? ......coming off a KO loss considered prime then i guess...DLH prime? no...Cotto prime? yep...Mayweather by far

as far as the poll goes, when you look up and down mayweathers list, there are alot of guys who were viewed as being in their prime, mayweather wasnt babied at all. pacman has more names, but mayweather certainley took on alot of guys who were prime, moreso than manny IMO. Mayweather loses every poll on boxingscene unless its negative, but this is one he should win IMO. Not to mention hes dethroend 2 undefeated p4p fighters while they were p4p.

I actually bet on Pac and won it for that fight. I knew his speed and power would be too much for Barrera. He was a bad style match up for MAB. I saw things in the Junior Jones fight that made me believe Pacquiao could beat Barrea and I think he would have beaten any version of Barrera. That was his most impressive win for me. Not Cotto who I pretty much expected to lose the way he did.

What don't they have to do with it, it's how competetive the fight is perceived by the public.

I can agree he was close but no way was he in his absolute physical prime.
Fair enough, close enough to his prime. But the perception of the challenge is what makes it special. Pac was suppose to get walked over, and looking back he wasn't near his prime either as we've learned.

You can't tell me that Floyd couldnt have fought fighters that would have made more competetive fights, hence closer odds. Isn't that peoples biggest beef with Floyd!?

People thought Corralles was gonna kill mayweather...and he made his dad throw in the towel ..he dominated the bigger, taller, & stronger Diego

i dont see how people could have really had legitimate odds for the pac-barrera fight..he wasn't even supposed to fight Barrera...he was a replacement...
