Wlad has a long way to go before he can even think about breaking that record. He would also have to unify the title to officially break it.

Good fighters, but both fight in probably the weakest era for heavyweights ever. Wlad will never beat Louis' record for consecutive defenses. Even if he did it wouldn't be as a unified champ which would tarnish the accomplishment. Both are top 20 in my book, but it would have been much more interesting to see how the would have fared in lets say the early or mid 90's compared to now. Jmo.

Vitali losing to the worst version of Lennox Lewis is a major factor in where I rank him. Yes he's top 20 but until he beats a prime Lewis calibre opponent he wont get any higher.

While I agree with this to an extent, I think it should be taken into consideration how he was doing against Lewis and how easily he's dominated the rest of his comp. His weak resume certainly hurts, but that isn't his fault either. Just something to chew on there.

Lewis was not in the best shape but neither was Vitali. People act like Vitali was primed whiel Lewis was not. Vitali took the fight on two weeks notice and it showed because he began to gas very early (for his standards). Both were not at their best... Vitali was going for high risk taking compared to his usual style... I think this is because he knew his only chance was to end the fight before the championship rounds.

OK name 3 fighters you have seen been allowed to fight on in the last 30 years with a worse cut than Vitali had?
Vitali had won the first 4 Lewis the last 2, long time to go, he lost to the worst conditioned Lewis ever seen, end of.

He is 44 years old and has plenty of money. he has been out of boxing for over 6 years. Does not make sense for him to come back and fight Vitali now and if he did and Vitali wn the fight it wouldn't mean ****....Lefty
