I'm surprised you even gave Johnson a round. Yes, he landed more than people give him credit for, a few decent counter rights and some snapping jabs from what I recall, but honestly I refuse to give credit to someone who put on as negative a performance as he did. Very classless at the end, as well.

Johnson was slick he had great D - but he didn't throw enough. He was content to clown and get a few little arm punches in.

I have to disagree. To me, he quit in the staredown. He did land a few snappy jabs, but didn't do enough to win more than a round at best (I had it a shutout). He fought like he was afraid, which he was. The best moment was when Vitali started mimicking his showboating in the last round. That was funny. That and Johnson and Wlad coming very close to getting into an unscheduled scrap after the fight.

Well said. Vitali mimicking Kingpin's showboating style was pretty funny, like he was saying, "so what?" to Johnson.

I really don't get how boxers approach the Klitschko brothers. I really don't. Of course their punches hurt... but they fight them for whatever the fight lasts but doesn't throw real punches... I think that Johnson had really a great chance slip away and he will bite himself in the ass if he watches this one again.

He did pretty well defensively and his jab was landing pretty good as well... Klitschko looked worst after the fight then Johnson... but he threw what??? Probably 10 real straight rights... you can't expect if Klitschko is the aggressor and throws more to get an decision if you only land jabs... and Vitali was wide open for a sneaky right hand... I simply don't get it...

As he exchanged with in the last 20 seconds in the middle of the ring he landed some good leather... sadly it was the first time he let his hands go. What a waste to go 12 rounds with Klitschlo without even trying.

As I saw Johnson fight the way he did... I always had to think of Ali... honestly... Ali would have murdered Klitschko tonight and you saw as soon as somebody has a little bit of defense how much of a problem Klitschko has... David Haye ain't gunshy and if he could execute a gameplan for 12 rounds I would give him a slight chance... because I think that Vitali lands sooner or later... but if Haye's punches hurt him enough because like said he's so wide open for the right... he probably has a chance to slow him down enough that he can make it an interesting fight.

But you simply got to have it all to beat him... only handspeed won't do it... only chin won't do it etc.

I've noticed a few fighters tend to clown in reaction to fear. Johnson looked like a deer in the headlights in the staredown. Then he was talking nonstop trash until Vitali started hitting him in the mouth a few times. Overall, it was a pretty shameful performance by a guy who kept promising "America" what he was going to do. We've heard it all before.

True, but Johnson was too intimidated to try to do anything. Chances are if he had opened up he would have been KO'd. He seemed content to make it to the final bell, as if that was some kind of victory. As for Haye, I actually think he would be an easier night for Wlad, who has bigger one-punch KO power than Vitali, who breaks people down. But my money is on either Klitschko against Haye in either fight. Haye will do well to get past Ruiz -- why else is he seeking Freddy Roach's help to fight the Quiet Man?

I don't stand in the ring so I can't say of course... but if you get punched by these guys for 12 rounds it will hurt too... so if you dare to be great... you have to try... and I personally think that Haye will try it... he will be going out on the back... I believe that as well *looooooool* But as long as it lasts I think he put up a fight...

I think that Haye would be more difficult for Wladimir because Wladimir simply only throws the jab in most fights. And only a jab won't keep Haye at bay IMO and if Haye lands a good right here and there... probably Wladi gets a little gunshy with his own right. I think Haye would remind him pretty good at the days were Klitschko lost. And to me personally... Wladi to me looks always like a man without confidence in the ring... you simply have to remind him of that... I think Haye would.

Actually I think that Ruiz won't be easy for Haye. Because Haye seems to have at a best a decent chin... Ruiz will be in front of him all night... I hope for boxing sake that Haye wins... but if he ain't comes in prepared and in shape... this one could get ugly for Haye. Ruiz can take a punch as well... Better it is... Haye needs to learn how to protect his chin (Amir Khan style *looooooooooooooooool*)

Very difficult to look good against Vitali, but Johnson wasn't exactly pulling the trigger. Despite his defence being quite nifty, that's not going to win a fight. Not by a long shot. I'm think I'm going to give up on the heavyweight division. David who?, exactly.

Re: Wlad. I doubt he would simply jab Haye all night. One solid right from Wlad on Haye's chin and Haye is a goner. Sure, he would set it up by jabbing for a few rounds, so Haye wouldn't see the right coming. My point is that Wlad is a bigger one-punch KO artist than Vitali. Vitali usually busts people up and then stops them, so beating Haye could be tougher work for him. But I could be wrong.

I agree with you re Ruiz, though. I don't really care about "for boxing's sake," because for boxing's sake all I hope is that the best man on the night actually wins. Ruiz has changed his style and is trying to be more fan-friendly by going for the KO, so I am willing to give him a chance, and I think he has a very good chance to beat Haye. That's why Booth and Haye are begging Roach for help.
