I don't see manny winning on points. If he wins its gonna be a KO and the only way thats happening is if floyd tries to sit on the ropes and counter punch. If floyd does that he'll find out that manny is too quick and strong and he'll be on his back, or face first on the canvas. Floyd gotta dance and pop shot like always. He might lure manny in and quickly move like he did to KO Hatton. Manny leaves himself open too much to outbox floyd in the center. But if floyd gets tired or tries that philly shell **** its a wrap then and there

my take..........i think manny showed in the cotto and jmm fight that he doesnt like movement..hell in the cotto fight he str8 up got frustrated...i think he's been matched with a certain style his entire career and in this fight that will be exposed..floyds fought every style there is....if he was frustrated with cotto's movement...floyd might make him pull some hair out of his head...floyd will use angles and distance and cut mannys workrate in half..manny will give floyd trouble in the first 4 rounds imo with his speed and southpaw stance..but i think once floyd times him and gets his rhytmn him left hooks and lead rights will bust manny up..i see floyd winning maybe 8-4 ud or late stoppage

thoughts??no trolling. please red k anyone who trolls

a 2 year layoff and an exhibition against a fat, counterpunching lightweight is NOT gonna get you ready for a Manny Pacquiao

the reality check comes on March 13

in the middle rounds , once floyd gets adjusted to pacquiao's speed , change the fight plan up.

        no more aggressiveness.

go forward with his hands up , walk floyd to the ropes or corner.

let floyd initiate the punching and counter his jab and lead right even though manny is the one going forward.

manny shouldn't punch until floyd is on the ropes or corner and he is well within range.

everytime floyd throws , that's when manny throws.

that'll be , IMHO , manny's best chance to land something solid. floyd is at his best countering a punch while the most solid punches floyd has been hit with was usually when he was initiating the offense.

do this for a few rounds to see if it works , if it doesn't then just revert back to sheer pressure and hope it'll be enough.

manny wins by controversial , close decision. by ko if for some reason floyd's chin is not as good as we think it is since he rarely gets hit.
The bold could be key. But I am sure in Mayweather's corner they happen to know Roach is no fool.

great post...floyd cant just leap in with his leaft hook against manny imo mannys to quick..he'll have to hook off of the jab or work it in off of another combo

It won't be Martinez-Williams exciting, but I expect it to be a big step up from De La Hoya-Trinidad.

Contrary to popular belief, Floyd doesn't run all night long. He is not Cory Spinks. He'll have a small size advantage over Pacquiao, plus the fact that he feels disrespected by Pac's quick rise to fame. I think Floyd will stand his ground more times than not in this fight.

I wrote a round by round prediction for it the other day:

Round 1: Low activity round, Mayweather wins due to establishing a strong jab and maybe clocking Pac with a nice counter at some point.

                Mayweather 10-9 Pacquiao

Round 2 & 3: Manny starts to open up and wins the two rounds based on aggression, but doesn't really hurt Mayweather who is constantly on the move. Floyd will land the cleaner shots but there is no follow up.

                Mayweather 28-29 Pacquiao

Round 4 - 6: Mayweather takes two Manny takes one. Again, Mayweather is landing the more spectacular single shots but Pacquiao is throwing 3, 4, 5 punches at a time and making the crowd go wild.

                Mayweather 57-57 Pacquiao

Round 7 - 9: Mayweather reestablishes the jab and masterfully keeps Pacquiao at bay while landing lead hooks and straight rights. Now he's starting to throw a second or even third when he connects.

                Mayweather 87-84 Pacquiao

Round 10: Pacquiao steps on the gas after Roach reads the riot act and has more success this round partially due to Mayweather testing the waters for a KO. When Mayweather engages he's met with a flurry and while he's never in serious trouble he loses the round.

                Mayweather 96-94 Pacquiao

Round 11 & 12: Mayweather rectifies the mistakes he made in 10 and goes back into safety first mode, winning the two rounds simply by nullifying Pacquiao's offense. Not many great punches landed by either man in the last 6 minutes except maybe the home stretch where Pacquiao really throws the kitchen sink at Mayweather, leaving himself open to dazzling counters.

                Mayweather 116-112 Pacquiao
Changed my mind a little bit in that I think Pacquiao could grab one or two more before round 10, and I think Mayweather will come on stronger in rounds 11 and 12 and land some great punches.

It won't be a classic war but it will be one of the most interesting styles clashes I can remember.

miguel cotto, ricky hatton and oscar de la hoya don't exactly get you ready for the speedy mayweather either.

come to think of it, the last time manny fought a guy with world class speed was...........ummmmm..... nobody comes to mind. help me out.

i think this will be roach's gameplanning vs. floyd's in fight adjustments

roach needs to come up with at least 2 gameplans and an emergency "nothing is working" game plan.

i don't like floyd but i don't think he's ****** in the ring. he knows how to adjust.
