  • There's no way Gayweather can dodge a non-stop pounding by Pac for five rounds. Pac will go for the KO in the first round and will continue until 1 or 2 punches gets through to Fraud's chin and BOOM the "0" is gone.

Pac by brutal KO in the 5th round.

    • here's how i see---just like i have always seen it---floyd will dominate manny---i don't see manny winning more than 2 rounds---if that---i will explain more later as far as their styles go--but for now--all i have to input is floyd will dominate manny--easy win for floyd--one of his easiest wins---8 rounds or less--floyd will stop manny---guarantee you all this---just like i always have--manny will look so ordinary against floyd---floyd will toy with manny---

Cortdawg, no doubt he is a tough bastard to hit, but Manny will land punches. It'll happen.

I was talking to Shawn Porter on here recently and he thinks the way to beat Floyd is to overwhelm him and not allow him to breathe. If Manny does this early, can Floyd recover and win? Floyd has super quick reflexes, but he needs some space and time to think. I agree with Shawn in a way, but I'm not sure if I'd rush right in, I'd probably try to make Floyd come to me and avoid following him around the ring for at least a few rounds early on. It might catch some boos from the crowd when nothing happens, but why fall into Floyd's game plan? He wants opponents to come forward and be aggressive because that's where he excels.

I think a good idea for Manny would be to vary his game. People say Floyd adjusts well, which I agree on, although it took him 5 rounds to figure Hatton out, apparently. Still, if Manny's game plan changes around the fourth round it could throw Floyd off. This is why I wouldn't rush in with my best attacks straight away -- it would only leave fewer options later on. Get Floyd to come forward early (at the risk of the fight starting out boring), in round 5 turn the heat up.

Alternatively, rush in at 100% and refuse to stop until your man is on the canvas.

I see u mentioned no head movement as a reason why Floyd looked good aginst hatton....well Diaz, Hatton, Oscar, or Cotto barely moved there heads as well.

so does manny really flourish in the middle of the ring?
I would say so....when was the last time Manny won the fight with his back on the ropes? Majority of Manny's opponents you mentions above were the supposed "bigger fighters" so the gameplans were to stay off the ropes, which would leave only the middle of the ring. Diaz....little head movement but a tough little sumamabitch.....Hatton...never expected to get sparked like that, but no head movement.....DLH.....Manny was just too fast.....Cotto actually has decent defense and head movement....but his willingness to fight with Manny was his undoing......funny how Cotto became the fighter to "not have his back on the ropes" later in that fight....

          • As another poster posted before, PAC should get the earlier rounds to make PBF come out of his shell and fight PAC head on. If not PBF will stay defensive and be content with another decision win. Pac should be agressive from the start, control the pace but he should stay on his gameplan. I dont really know how PAC would do this, PAC style is suited for PBF imo. If you base this on speed PBF is equally or much more faster than PAC. PAC wont have the same look when he fought Cotto. PBF wont rush forward throwing sloppy shots, thats when Cotto got countered. PBF will stay on his shell and wait for opening, PAC should dictate the tempo but I doubt it. PBF is master of this. He's so patient and let his oppenent be confident in throwing punches and use his quick reflex to dodge and hit back. PAC need to box this time, I just much I love PAC, but he's style will be his downfall this time.

It ain't much improvement other than that he actually throws it in a fight!
It is maybe 80% as strong as his left -- a knockdown hand, rather than a knockout hand. Not all Pacquiao's punches are looped, and even so, the ones that are looped are still fast enough to make them hard to deal with.

The one thing you can bank on is Roach and Pacquiao focusing on one particular move tailored to each opponent. For Ricky, they were really blatant with it too (right hook, roll under) and he still got caught with it within 2 minutes. I still can't believe he fell for it so easily.

For Cotto, they had good success with the weird uppercut which caused the second KD. I think I heard this referred to as a shovel hook? Not sure.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with for Floyd anyway.

PS: Don't forget -- Pacquiao is ambidextrous.

Neither is much faster than the other. Not much difference.

                • damn i cannot wait for this fight! i envision a close but clear UD for Floyd. There will be really close rounds where the round can go either way and there will be rounds where floyd will dominate. i dont see pacquiao dominating one round.
