And I agree with Roach. If JT comes in at 230 look for him to win the early rounds and fade more and more as the fight goes on.Originally posted by Bozo_no_noYou're worried for no reason.
Roach has always wanted Toney to come in lighter, and Toney does what he wants. I saw Toney interviewed about it and he said Roach wants him to come in at 216 or somthing like that. Toney said he'll come in at whatever weight he feels comfortable at.
Not to worry my friend. If you like JT, you know he's a pro and a throw back fighter. He knows what's at stake, and he'll be ready to go.

oh yeah. Thats right.Originally posted by joeboxerIt ended in a desicion. Jirov got knocked down in the last round but he still made it out.
for some reason, I always think he knocked him out, and Tito went the distance with Hopkins. Thats wierd.

I'm not really a fan of Toney but I have much respect for his skills and I want him to beat Ruiz. However, what joeboxer has said concerns me. In my view, Toney is the underdog coming into this fight, being that he has something to prove at HW(besides a win over Holyfield and Booker), for all his skills, he hasn't done that much at HW. I'm sure he'll be the betting favorite, but in my view, the truly established HW, Ruiz is the favorite.\
It would be in Toney's best interest to come into this fight in peak shape. I saw a photo of him, recently taken, and it looks like joeboxers concerns are legit.
If Toney ****s this chance up because of his weight, he will dissappoint 90% of the boxing world, and prevent himself from being called a true legend of the sport. He is a for sure hall-of-famer but a HW title would put him into that legendary status.Comment
