      but if need be the legislature will probably approve it.

      there's more to taxes than state income tax.

      just imagine the state sales taxes they'll get from this.

          Well, yeah. In new York, for example, there's an 18% tax on hotel rooms. So whenever there is a big event there, the city really makes out.

          That's in addition to the contractors tax (which is why they don't get the mega-events).
