Were Boxing Fans "Duped" by the Mayweather/Marquez Fight?

When I look back at this fight, something tells me that something was absolutely wrong with the outcome. Mayweather virtually "blew-out" Marquez in a lopped-sided match that was so horrendous to even view to it's ending. Knowing that Marquez is a good fighter, it seemed as though he really did not put out too much effort in this fight. Did any of you notice this? For some odd reason, I'm led to believe that Marquez was "paid-off" by Golden Boy Promos. to take a "dive" if you will in order to give the Pretty Boy a highly acclaimed comback victory. Only Golden Boy Promos. and Mayweather Productions would know the truth behind this and if it is true, I would say this has to be the biggest fraud scam in boxing history. Now for all of you out there, this is just a gut feeling and not intended to cause unnecessary flame wars. What do you think?

I think you are grasping for straws and insulting the hearts of two champions. Say what you like about Mayweather, but he's not the type to "pay anyone off". He wants all the money for himself, after all. And to think Marquez would take a dive? The guy has the heart of a lion.

    just no.

I'd have to agree with you here hands down, I just don't see it. Don't want to flame but Mayweather is on a different level than Marquez he was just out boxed period.

Marquez is a great fighter, but was way out of his element both at the weight, and against Mayweather. That's the long and short of it.

The only payoff involved, was Golden Boy securing a $4 million payday in exchange for sacrificing him as Mayweather's comeback opponent of choice.

fraudulent jr. is a hustler. he even said it himself, most recently in the ra rugged man interview & in the joe buck live show. "cant knock his hustle!"

marquez was a career featherweight with 55 plus fights, 36 years old, with only 2 fights at 135. His last 3 fights were absolute wars with pac, casamayor, & diaz.

By the time he fought a 32 year old undefeated welterweight champion former junior middleweight champion AT WELTERWEIGHT, he was done.

Not for nothing Lady Fan but your analysis is worse than one of your lounge threads.
