Im just saying PBF needs more than to beat Pac to do what Pac has done. What pac has done has impressed people so much they think he is on steroids. PBF cant boast of that. Theres nothing PBF has done that is exceptional in people eyes.

Bottom line if PBF wants to be where Pac is he needs to really upset the odds and beat people he isnt supposed to beat.

Depends entirely on the viewer. It is entirely subjective although the numbers support Pac now. IMO, pac has a greater resume than Floyd but not that much. Probably 1-4 steps higher. Their resume are so close that if Floyd will higher in some ATG list, I would not have any problem with it ( unless it is too far out ).

      As for the question,
Unify WW bu this would still be questionable. The problem is that the players are no longer that deep as when he left. IMO, he got the lineal belt then... good ... but the fighters when he left are on a hot streak that if he bested them then we would not have this question now. Talk about Cotto, Marg, Mosley, Pwill. All their stars are not as bright now as 2 years ago.

If you forget that Pac was a SFW just last year, then I suppose so.

To be fair though, a fan who know Kirkland Laing is no casual fan.

That's your opinion. Even if you believe Pacquiao ranks higher, the gap it is not as ridiculously wide as some here want to believe. If Pacquiao loses this fight(especially if it's convincing) no way does he rank higher than Mayweather in my book.

I just got back so i havent read this entire thread so forgive me if i repeat anything else someone said. But IMHO if he beats Pac than he is certainly at his level or higher. If he beats Pac he is undefeated fighter in 5 divisions-6titles and all his belts are the three major sanctioning bodies WBC, WBA, and IBF. I dont think he lost to JLC in both of their fights. If you go by that standard than Pac has 4 divisions instead of 7, if you add the WBO than pac has 5.

I am not taking away from pac, but PBF beat Hatton before Pac did and TRUE boxing fans know the first lost is bigger than the next lost. He beat DLH at 154 which is more dynamic than an older DLH at 145. Pac beat Barreras who had really lost 2 of his 3 fights with Morales, and was destroyed Junior Jones twice. Morales had recently lost to Zaheem before his 2nd fight loss to Pac.
I consider PBF win over Corrales more spectacular at 130. He beat good fighters in Sosa, Ndou, and Manfredy when they were still names. He never has been knocked out and his official KD was him touching the canvas with his glove due to an injured hand. People laugh at Baldomir but he is like a rock and hadnt lost in years and weighed like 165 during the fight. Baldomir is more durable than Cotto as far as chin. Forrest hit Baldomir with the kitchen sink and couldnt KO him.

Currently, i have Pac a little higher than PBF, but if PBF beats Pac i can't see how he is still lower than him? In addition, it depends how the fight goes if it is lopsided UD or if its a close SD. IF PBF barely wins they are in the same class, but if its one sided W for PBF than he is the best fighter of his era.

A fan who compares him to Mayweather is an ignorant fan whether he's casual or not. Laing shouldn't be too obscure in England to the average boxing fan who's old enough to remember .I saw a documentary filmed on Laing in somewhere in England. He's now homeless. It was pretty sad.

As pointed out elsewhere in this thread, PBF doesn't automatically envelop all of Manny's accolades. He can prove himself as the better fighter man to man by winning. But not the greater fighter overall career wise.
