Just cuz JMM found success vs Manny don't mean Floyd will...

I'm tired of seeing posts suggesting that Floyd will beat Manny based on how Floyd beat JMM and the success JMM had against Manny.

First of all, Marquez was slow, overweight and bloated vs Floyd and Floyd didn't even TRY to make the contracted weight. So that fight should be thrown out the window.

Second, Marquez is a great counter puncher and does his best work during the exchanges. That's when he did his best work against Manny; he's not afraid to trade. Floyd does not like to trade at all these days.

Floyd will not find the same success Marquez had against Manny. Why? Because Floyd is afraid to trade. And he will not trade with Manny. If he does he gets laid out. Floyd didn't even want to trade with pot belly Marquez for fear of getting caught.

I see Floyd doing what he's been doing lately. Jab, potshot, hold, jump in with a left hook, hold, lead with a right, hold, etc., etc., etc.

And this limited output won't work against Manny's overwhelming output and pace. I see Manny beating Floyd to the punch on many occasions, especially early in the fight. Then I think Manny's angles and pace will give Floyd major problems late in the fight.

because of Pacquiao people think everyone can weight class jump. Marquez was a FEATHERWEIGHT, he can't fight as a welterweight. To make it worse his style isn't even suited for the attack.

Floyd does not string combinations together like Marquez can. I've never seen Floyd time 2 uppercuts and land them both.

at 130 Marquez had superb feet, Marquez is better at combinations, and he's a better counter puncher based on his combination punching alone. Marquez at 130 was just that damn good. I'd give Floyd everything else though, even power, at FW. Although Marquez had some pop.

In a way your right... I dont see the jmm-pacquiao, floyd-pacquiao as a legitimate analogy except for that manny struggles with real boxers with reflexes. I see floyd fighting pacquiao in a completely different manner. This fight reminds me of trinidad-hopkins in a way. Trinidad looked unstopppable but bernard was just too smart. I see this being similar. There is always someone who beats you. Manny depends too heavily on his physical attributes and i see that being his downfall, where floyd has physical attributes but also has crazy reflexes and ring smarts. Crazy good matchup but i think floyd wins but like iv said everytime with pacquiao he tends to suprise me everytime so ima be prepared to not be suprised this time...
