look, im well aware lots of people get overexcited and start saying diffrent fighter are great before they proved themselfs. however im not one of them, i never was and i never will be.

the whole "lacy was the next tyson" thing is just ignorant. ortiz was the next DLH, that doesnt make maidana an atg. in reality you have to prove yourself, something kessler and lacy never did.

lacys best wins are syd vanderpool and a washed up robin reid. kesslers best wins are mundine, beyer and andrade. neighter one has beat a world class oponent, hense they cant be considered a world class fighter. every time lacy stepped up he got schooled. calzaghe, taylor, hell even a washed up roy jones.. kesslers career is going the same way.

nobody deserves much credit for eighter one. they are both ordinary fighters.

Lacy and Kessler were both ranked as the best SMWs in the world and had titles at the time. Who did you want him to fight? If he didn't fight them ppl would have said he ducked them. He moved up to LHW and beat Hopkins, the only ppl who think the win was controversial are Hopkins fans, Joe clearly won and Hopkins did only slightly better than Kessler against him in my view......He shouldn't have fought Roy at that point though I agree but still he was a good fighter one of the best at 168 ever and deserves more respect on here.

you are entitles to your opinion, i clearly thought hopkins won. not only hopkins fans think he won eighter, its a very controversial fight with lots of diffrent opinions. hopkins sure as hell did alot better than kessler, thats a fact.

i wouldve liked him not to pull out of the johnson fight a trillion times. i wouldve loved to see him give hopkins a rematch, or take on dawson, pavlik or even tarver.

some ppl give him too little respect, anyone who fights for a living deserves respect. and anyone who gives hopkins even at 44 a hard fight deserves props for his ability. hes not an atg in my eyes though, and just like alot of ppl dont give him enough props alot of people overrate him alot aswell.
