I gave a few examples already but sure we can roll with your examples.....

That's much different than an unknown fighting on an undercard that you go to.

How champs can be unknown is beyond me. You just need to do a little searching to find their fights.
Dude you are missing my point.....just cuz you know who they are doesn't mean they are "name fighters"........im sure in their country they all know who they are.....if you are true boxing fan you know who they are.......but that doesn't make them "name fighters"....and there are tons of champions right now that are not name fighters.......good fighters sure.....some even great fighters....but they are widely "unknown"...come on now dawgy.....you better than that........

If given the choice, ie somehow knowing the action level was guaranteed going into both fights? Of course I'd rather see the great fight between 2 unknowns. Who wouldn't? The faggots who give a fuck about other men's money, ppv buys, and purses might say otherwise, but they aren't true boxing fans.

i actually enjoyed pbf-zab, maybe the riot helped? i think it was a decent fight considering how big of a question mark zab's peak skills were before the fight.
John Ruiz Vs anybody (unless he is getting KTFO by Tua)
norman stone makes john ruiz fights entertaining.
Klit Bros' Vs Just about anyone
depends which klit. i dont really find either exciting but at least one is less boring and more agressive than the other.

              A great fight between unknowns
Somsak Sithchatchawal VS Mahyar Monshipour in 2006
haven't really watched this yet but i'll watch it later.

to answer your question, of course i would prefer watching great fights between unknowns, particularly prospects as i enjoy watching upcoming boxers develop their styles throughout their career.

there is alot of disappointment (for me at least) when a big name fight fails to meet its expectations or the way the fight was promoted. i was so pumped up as i waited for pbf-dlh only to find out... well, you know the rest.

A true boxing fan would say "I would like to see both"...like me.
A great fight with two no names is a great fight regardless of the names and two big names is still good to watch because you learn where the fighters are , as far as weaknesses, strengths and so forth.

Tough Question for me honestly, I really love a good scrap, but when a good scrap happens against named fighters its even better. However, There is some appeal to someone laying their legacy on the line, even if the fight sucks, it feels more like a chess match, unless one boxer is clearly outmatched, i hate tune ups without knockdowns. I like knowing a boxer cause i liked routing for someone or against someone, based on my past experience watching their fights, when its two nobodies slugging it out, I waver alot on who i want to win...

Honestly, I enjoy watching HBO and Showtime Boxing more so than Friday Night Fights, so i guess i prefer named fighters to unknown scraps...

But i guess if i had two fights tivo'd and only had time to watch one, and someone told me "these two guys fought a war" vs "Hopkins just outclasses pavlik" i'd go for the two unknowns.

But without hindsight, i lean towards named boxers
