so here is benoist's official score card:

      Martinez: 10 10 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 = 110
      Williams: 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 = 119

your right i was exaggerating about the 4 KD's.

but say he scored 2 more knockdowns after the first 2 rounds?

      Martinez: 10 10 9 9 9 10 10 9 9 9 9 9 = 112
      Williams: 10 9 10 10 10 8 8 10 10 10 10 10 = 115

thats still a major robbery not to give it to martinez. that judge being there made the fight a robbery.
      *fixed

you can't base a fight on knockdowns alone. if the other wins enough rounds, he could still win. that's just how the numbers add up.

It was close fight. A close fight that could go either way is never a robbery.

this is a fight that some people thought martinez won, some thought williams won, 2 KD's make all the difference.

of course. i'm just saying that even with 2 extra knockdowns, any fighter could still lose if his opponent wins the majority of the fight.

There is no such things as a close fight being a robbery. Definition of a Robbery in boxing-when fighter A clearly beats fighter B yet still doesn't get the decision. This was far from it and it could have went either way.

I haven't scored the fight but I got the impression it could have gone either way. So I wouldn't call it a robbery but perhaps an attempted robbery by one judge which was unjust regardless of the outcome.

It was a competitive fight. Boxing is still not scored on effective punches, but on the number of punches. Judges have some room to decide what they look more at. A robbery is one a fighter lands no punches, fouls allot and still manages to win. Williams' defense was **** and he's just not that good, don't get me wrong. I'm still pissed at Williams for such bad performance. He deserved to lose based on how he's managing his career but he didn't. It was just close card. Of course the 119-110 score card was rubbish.
