That kid eventually becomes a great fighter and makes the sport millions more down the line. A lot of fighters become fighters because they see the bright lights and what boxing can do for your stature and bank account but if they can't see it then they may never consider getting into boxing. If Tyson fights were never shown to the general public you wouldn't have Manny Pacquaio who has grossed more for the sport than 50 million dollars that a site fee and raised ticket prices in Vegas would give for this one fight. Boxing simply doesn't think about their future.
they can watch a fight with their dad on tv.

    exposure comes from tv.

besides the dad can take their kids to smaller fights that are cheaper.

my dad use to take me to the great western forum when i was a kid.

this is a megafight. 3 casinos are talking about pooling resources together to support this.

it'll happen in vegas unless jerry jones puts up a ton of money to hold it.

and if he does , he'll have to have expensive tickets as well.

remember vegas doesn't care about the ticket sales as much as it cares about the people it'll draw to vegas. they'll pawn up more money than a stadium owner.

Where are you getting this info from TS? Cuz to my knowledge a venue has not been officially selected nor has pricing been set... Stop making up stuff or turning rumor/assumption to fact... And to everyone else that replied stop automatically believing everything u read

And we all have to shell out 60 dollars to view it. Not to mention that almost all the viewers have HBO which is about 20 dollars a month and whatever cable prices are. Imagine if this fight was on ABC where everyone could see it. Instead our sport went to PPV where only a very small portion can follow the big name fighters. Sure, it will probably gross 400 million dollars but this could be the last larger than life fight due to the ****** heads of boxing. It pisses me off to think where boxing is headed.

I know it is all hype and rumor at this point but if they fought in a 30,000 seat or less venue the low end ticket would be around 500 bucks.

I am an advocate of the Texas Stadium idea because I think it would still sell out there. The only thing that scares me in Texas is that the commission tries to force Lawrence Cole's terrible refering ass in the fight.

              tv networks don't like boxing.

it wouldn't even be able to compete with some cheaply made reality tv show.

Because boxing alienated the fans by going to HBO and PPV. If Boxing hadn't been greedy in the early 90s it would be as popular as any of the major sports. Boxing f'd up and now it has to deal with it. This is the fight that could possibly fix it up a little bit and they are still going to mess it up by not giving it the right exposure. People didn't lose interest in the sport(as you see worldwide), the sport forced fans out the door.

Check, they had to go to HBO.
The major networks dropped boxing like a hot potato.

If anything, HBO tried to help.

Do you do anything else but talk about Pac and create hate threads on all the other fighters? Ping pong pang?
