  • P4P fight ducking!

How comes all the so called "P4P" best fighters in the World duck, pick, and choose so cautiously these days?

Bernard Hopkins... He's ducked, complained about money, and decided to fight Robert Allen over and over instead of chassing greatness.

Floyd Mayweather has picked the easiest of the light-welterweights, will win that fight by running for 12 rounds, and then I guess - will move up to welterweight successfully avoiding all the 140lb dangermen like Tszyu/Cotto/Hatton/Harris/Witter etc...

RJJ was the same before he got FORCED by the WBC into a reluctant 2nd match with Tarver.

I like guy's like Morales/Barrera/Pacquiao/Corrales/Castillio/etc, They want to prove they're the best by fighting the best!... And when they fight... THEY COME TO FIGHT!... Not like that Cowardice display from Hopkins in reecent fights where he wants people to buy his tickets, but he's not prepared to fight! He's too worried about being hit! And shows his skills of running!

How can Bernard and Floyd be considered P4P 1. and 2. when they are so cautious when picking opponents?

    My P4P list goes:

    1. Barrera
    2. Morales
    3. Pacquiao
    4. Tszyu
    5. Corrales

Hopkins is definitely the worst, he's been fighting bums and blown up welter-weights for far too long.

There are two types of winners-

The person who plays a computer game on the easy level and perfects it. They will always win and take great joy in doing so. Thats the Hopkins way of doing it!!

        and

The person who plays the computer game on the hardest level possible, they want to prove they are the very best by winning at the highest level. Thats the Morales way of doing it.

Hopkins #1 P4P, only time I seen people questioning his place, was right after the Morales fight, They just want Morales at #1.

He said and he did are two different things.

I remember him saying he'd fight Calzaghe until the deal was on the table. I can remember him saying he'd fight a lot of people until they called his bluff.

I have no problem with him fighting his whole career at middlewight. My problems with Hopkins is that he calls out fighters he knows have no chance of making middleweight, that way he knows he'll never have to fight them!!

              Morales is just something else!

I got SO MUCH RESPECT for that guy!

I don't how he does it, but he turns up year in and year out and gives us some of the greatest fight you'll ever see. That last fight with Pacquiao, he went toe-2-toe especially in the last round ON PURPOSE coz' he wanted to please the fans!

He never ducks anyone, he's getting tired of fighting Barrera, but if the fans want Morlaes vs Barerra 4, he'll do it!

If you compare the level of competion he's been in with over the last 7-8yrs with that of Hopkins... They're WORLDS appart!

I never understand how Bernard Hopkins is considered P4P No.1 when you got guy's like Morlaes out there?

              Baffles me!

Who is Pacman, before the Barrera fight? He got knocked out twice, him beating Barrera wasn't suppose to happen, than Morales loses to Barrera, no surpise, while Pacman draws with JMM(who?), than Morales beats Pacman and becomes #1, while Seda, Corrales, Freitas, Casamayor all slip him by, and become stars. Morales is a P4P'er, but dont try replaceing him for Hopkins. I would have him around 5-3.

Pacquiao wasn't a nobody before he beat Barrera!
He was the IBF super-bantamweight champ, and he defended it something like 6 times, and before that he was the WBC Flyweight champion and defended that a load of times.

I was very surprised when Barrera took the Pacquiao fight because he didn't have too, and I considered Paquiao to be probably the most dangerous fight for him at the time!

But again Barrera showed his class by challenging the best out there.

I don't wanna say this but I reckon it's just an American marketing thing (This P4P stuff). They know they're gonna struggle to sell tickets for a bernard fight coz' he's so negative, so they dress it up with P4P No.1 to make people think they're going to see a fighter that's really special.

                  It's all Boll*x really!

Good comparison ! The irony here is if Hop faces Taylor, he's assuming that Taylor is too inexperienced to handle him. I give Taylor a much better chance than most..and if he pulls it off, B-Hop's gonna be stunned!
