He fought Cherifi with the hopes that Hopkins would fight him after Daniels but Hopkins again renegged on the contract (as shown by court transcripts and the reason HBO is siding with DKP instead of with Hopkins) and didn't fight for over a year when he then took on Hakkar. Tito saw no reason to stay since Hopkins didn't want the fight. He came back because of the posibility to fight Hopkins and because he missed the sport. I won't get into arguments about who would defeat whom in a rematch (I believe Tito would edge him out this time). We'll just have to agree to disagree and wait for the fight to happen (and I believe it will be Nards next AND last fight).

According to Tito's father, Tito was winning the fight against Hopkins until he got KO'd. Anyone remember that?

Oh yeah, that's my horrible initial post in this thread up there. It's pretty tame compared to the responses I got from ... some really smart guy.

Although Hopkins beat tito in a decisive way, He did not want to fight him again and risk trinidad landing something heavy on that chin and losing because he would be right back where he was before he fought tito.(making pennies instead of millions) He wanted to take the new recognition and run with it. He became the guy to beat, he was calling his own shots & negotiating money . Hopkins did the smart thing and stayed away from tito so he can have some retirement money. BOTTOM LINE!!!

Yep, a horrible thing that was. Delusional pride. Lampley points out that Tito's dad is telling him he's winning around the 10th or 11th i think.

I have a proposition, guys. As i see you have started an all out war between nard fans and tito fans. Why not one from each side talk to Rockin1 than (if he agrees o'cose) will sign up your fighter(nard and tito respectively) and we will have a dream rematch that you all want so much. It will be Tito against B-Hop.
I propose Exciterx to be a manager of Trinidad and definately Jack the Rippuh to be the manager of Hopkins. If you are interested pm me or Rockin. I think we will be able to workout this little feud.
                  Have a nice day.

BTW. the only similarity between Hearns and Tito is their ko power. Hearns style was nothing like tito's. its just some people that dont watch boxing much think that tito is the second coming of the Hitman. And also that ****** The Ring magazine.

Hmmmmmm, like who gives a ****. Hopkins beat Tito fair and square and that will stand. If Hopkins gives a rematch i think he`ll win but why risk losing.
Tito is younger. Better for Nard to sit back and retire nicely and Tito can maybe at his age do something impressive. If Hopkins remains the only fighter to beat Tito in his prime then it`ll add to his rep after time. Tito needs to beat Hop, Hop doesn`t need to beat Tito AGAIN! In a way, Tito is Nard`s *****!
