Its arguable that Calzaghe was even slightly past his prime, he still had a lot left. Also, those fights were taken as Joe's career defining fights. Dawson is only 27, and is only taking these fights to knock off the old names before he starts to clean up. In fact, the winner of Diaconu/Pascal will be mandated to fight him within a year.
