Amir Khan plays the race card!

The fact that he doesn't appreciate the huge amount of support he has recieved and still does is what annoys me.So because he's a minority he should just accept the abuse and not voice his opinion because it comes with the territory? GTFOH. That **** is never unacceptable.
Yeah, he is a hypejob, with little to no punch resistance and overrated punching power. Still, it doesn't make it cool for fans to come to his fights and spout racial hatred at him. He even acknowledged that it was small minority that does this.
His main point was that if he was white he wouldn't have to put up with this bull****. He'd still be star but without the negative racial baggage.
I don't see how he's playing the race card when he's stating facts regarding the treatment he gets from some members of society.
"Racists are bad." Okay... And? I don't think he should ignore the **** because he's "a minority"; he should ignore it because they're a minority. A minority not worth the time of day. If he wants to leave Britain and give us a sob story everytime he's questioned about his support while flagrantly ignoring all the money, adoration and career opportunities he's gotten out of the deal he's out of order.Comment

Read that article and tell me where he's ****ted on the support he's received for the vast majority of his career? The fact that he doesn't appreciate the huge amount of support he has recieved and still does is what annoys me.

He outlining he's experience and venting his frustration on the minority of those who give him ****. That's all.
Yeah, his choice of words was ******, since he's a big star already.
If he was white, he wouldn't endure the amount of racial abuse he currently gets. That was his point.Comment

There are 10 quotes from Khan moaning about his "haters" for every 1 appreciating his support.Read that article and tell me where he's ****ted on the support he's received for the vast majority of his career?

Also I don't like how he regularly implies that everyone who doesn't support him is either jealous or a racist.Comment

He probably makes as much reference as the guy in your sig, only Khan is justified to feel aggreivedComment

Well, it's not like he's ever come out and openly stated that, "The British public have never supported me and accepted me as one of they're own. The British people don't appreciate my talent or success" etc.....
I think he was giving reasons as to why he gets booed at this fights. He's not the most ungrateful or ****iest fighter I've ever heard, so this criticism seems unwarranted to me.Comment

imo there are alot of reasons why khan recieves hate and why some people are just waiting for him to fall flat on his face.
firstly i think he is chinny and has navigated his way to a title he became the best domestic LW without facing the two main guys (thaxton and murray). again he became a top 10 LW without ever facing another top 10. this is probably warrens fault as much as anyone else.
secondly he seems a walking cliche - he comes across as a bit dim and slow in interviews (errrr.....you know what i mean?) and never really says anything that reveals his character.
but i do think khan has a point, speaking as a fellow asian ****** living in the uk i can say pretty confidently that there is definently some racially fuelled criticsm and it seems like there are some political/relgious/racial/cultural tensions concerning khan. maybe the uk don't likle having an asian-****** lad as one of the best young boxers in the country.Comment

I agree with khan that the color of your skin has a lot to do with it. Just ask ricky hatton & steve nash.Amir Khan: ‘I’d be a superstar if I was white’
Ron Lewis
Amir Khan: "Sometimes you don't see the appreciation"
Amir Khan, the boxer who was portrayed as a perfect image of multicultural Britain when he won an Olympic silver medal in 2004, said that he would be a bigger star if he was white.
Khan, 22, has been booed regularly by boxing crowds in the past year despite winning a world title in July. “It’s probably jealousy and sometimes skin colour does make a difference,” the fighter said. “I would be a superstar in Britain. I never get racial remarks [said to my face], but it’s always out there, which you can’t stop. You just live and learn about what people are like. I just choose to ignore them.”
He makes the first defence of his WBA light-welterweight title against Dmitri Salita in Newcastle upon Tyne tonight, but has said that he would like to box next year in the United States, where he now trains. He said that he suffered abuse after losing in September last year to Breidis Prescott, of Colombia, which was his only professional defeat.
“Straight after the Prescott fight, when people said, ‘He’s finished’, there were racial remarks made. If you go on the message boards and chat forums there are always people who have to get the religious thing in. But it made me stronger, it made me come back stronger and made be a better fighter
He is pissing and moaning that he should be a bigger "super star" and he would be if he was white.
No, he isn't a superstar because he has a ridiculously fragile chin and goes down like a rag doll. The idiot has no punch resistance and will never be elite.
Also, ******s aren't exactly popular right now in the world, and the brits don't like having an Immigrant like Khan pretend he is English. But thats more of a cultural thing than really a racial thing.
but i disagree with needing to be white to be a star.
almost all sports stars are NOT WHITE. Even in boxing the biggest stars is a african american who nobody likes & a short asian guy who doesnt live in america & is horrible with english.
If your great people will watch. Plain & simple. Khan's problem is he got no chin & got rocked by a jab.
BEING WHITE ONLY HELPS. But if you suck, it doesnt matter what the color of your skin is.
He could actually be bigger than fraud jr, or pacquiao. If he wins & plays his cards the way they need to be played, he could be a ICON.
khan actually is in a great position because he is pakistani & ******. He could actually be a REALLY BIG STAR IF HE PERFORMS. He can actually RALLY the disillusioned ****** youth in troubled ****** regions as a GREAT EXAMPLE of what to do with your life. He can galvanize & become a pioneer for young ****** people & steer them in the direction of living a good life instead of destroying life. He could BE HUGE, a pioneer, a ICON for young ****** men if he makes the effort to take that path.Comment

Sorry bro but he got a point...Look at Hatton. Hatton is PURE GARBAGE. He has 1 win over a SHOT AN FADED Tzyou. Take away that win an who has be beat? NO ONE. If Hatton was black or brown with his BORING hold an grab style no one would care but EM but since he's white its O.K.
The amount of hype from the English limeys about Hatton leading into the Mayweather fight was freaking hilarious. They managed to believe their own propaganda. He was a ****e limited fighter and pathetic england promoted him as some kind of god. Most important point being he was English for them. I have noticed over here in the states other fighters like Steve Collins and Calzaghe, vastly better but as they are not English, they had to wait 10 years to get press coverage unlike english Hatton.
Khan will never be supported by them as most Asians in england don't like being called english, just British. I wonder why that is.Comment
