it hasnt got anything to do with race why khan is disliked in the UK, he got cheered massively before he lost. Problem is he got beat by a nobody in theory in his first ppv fight which was blown up massively and after he did a 5 minute entrance to the ring. He started to come across as ****y and then he got his ass kicked. Then he came back and fought ***an which is ok as a comeback fight i had no problem with that. I dont think people liked him fighting barrera suprisingly, he seems to have a lot of respect in the UK perhaps from beating Naz. The fight was a bit of a sham and stunk of a shot fighter being lamb to the slaughter.

A lot of the dislike is the hype surrounding him, being blown up by the press so much etc. People liked Naz because he was arrogant but entertaining. Also i think the general public or casual boxing fans in the UK are starting to realise they are paying £15 to watch a Frank Warren mismatch half the time. If Khan left Warren and maybe signed with Golden Boy i feel he would become more of a fan favourite.

He's still liked over here dont get me wrong, i think hes a good fighter but i cant warm to him totally until he beats someone and shows some guts, to be fair the first time i really applauded him was when he fought Limond because he got up to win, thats the type of guts Britsh people like to see.

Well i have Skysports and i record every Boxing telecast thats on. I seem to remember recording the replay of Khan vs ***an because i did not want to pay for PPV. I almost 100% certain it was PPV.

I think Prescott was Khan's first fight on PPV. I seem to remember thinking how fitting it was that he should get knocked out and that is was bad karma for trying to rip the fans off with a BS PPV.

Khan had a 4 fight deal if remember right. He lost to Prescott in the first and the ***an fight was lucky that is was carried by the Pacquiao vs DLH fight, which was on PPV. Warren knew he had to sell the PPV so im my eyes he put all his eggs in one basket and went for Barrera because he knew the fans would not pay to see Khan fighting a nobody on PPV.

Agreed with the majority of this, this guy is on the money. He got booed vs Barrera simply because Barrera is a legend and British fight fans respect him hugely. They also felt, Khan had not deserved to be put in the ring with such a legend yet. Also Khan getting very ****y even though he hadnt fought anyone and getting a world title fight when his only big fight he had was Barrera at that point. To play the race card is pathetic and typical.

Khan's furious promoter Frank Warren, meanwhile, has criticised the media, accusing them of "playing on his naivety" in the pursuit of headlines.

"I'm really disappointed that people keep asking Amir these questions. We've managed to keep race and religion out of this fight and I find it offensive and sad," he said.

"People don't ask David Haye what it's like to be black. They don't ask Catholic fighters about the problems in Northern Ireland. When James Degale got booed, they didn't put it down to racism.

"Amir is 22 and perhaps they are playing on his naivety. It must play on Amir's mind - why are people asking me this all the time? It's totally unfair on Amir, and it is very disappointing."
i think this is true too , Khan doesnt just make these statements out of the blue , he is obviously asked about race quite a lot, personally if i was going on the net and saw racist remarks about me i wouldnt feel like being quiet about it , even though i dont agree with the statement khan made

I assert that if you take a group of say 20 Khan haters, only one or two are going to have race a primary factor.

I'm surprised at how many people are actually backing Khan's sentiments. In America when you have a boxer such as Mayweather "play the race card" the nation collectively rolls it's eyes and tells him to **** off, and rightly so. But Brits just can't give ourselves any credit it seems, we love to loathe ourselves. Some of you guys might be surprised to find out that we are one of the most progressive nations in the world.
So because he's a minority he should just accept the abuse and not voice his opinion because it comes with the territory? GTFOH. That **** is never unacceptable.

Yeah, he is a hypejob, with little to no punch resistance and overrated punching power. Still, it doesn't make it cool for fans to come to his fights and spout racial hatred at him. He even acknowledged that it was small minority that does this.

His main point was that if he was white he wouldn't have to put up with this bull****. He'd still be star but without the negative racial baggage.

I don't see how he's playing the race card when he's stating facts regarding the treatment he gets from some members of society.
