I hate FLoyd but he had over 1 mil PPV buys fighting someone no casual fan knew existed
we all know how good JMM but Floyd sold that alone
pac only had 200k more buys fighting a much more known Cotto
Floyd was making a few million fighting has beens and gate keepers whil manny was barely making a mill fighting legit guys like JMM and morales barrera

lets call it a draw and get the fight signed

I can't speak for anybody else but this is my take on it. I think that Mayweather is great at playing the bad guy role and thus rallies ppl behind the other guy but the biggest thing today in boxing is that it factor to me. People want to see great performances perhaps even more than a competitive fight and will pay to see alpha dog because of that. Mayweather's name and reputation is what is selling the fight regardless of all the guys who feel mayweather's style is boring he is the man until someone beats him and people are drawn to that. That in itself is drama and that is why more people payed to see Hatton and De la Hoya vs. Mayweather rather than pacquioa. The game isn't as simple as people like this guy more so he's the bigger draw anymore. Plus Mayweather is just easy to promote because he's always talking.
