Alright somebody tell me if I'm wrong.
Pac vs. Hatton was on May 2.
Cotto vs. Clottey was on June 13
Mayweather vs. Marquez was SUPPOSED to be on July 18. But after a mysterious injury that was never proven, the fight was postponed (and a lot more tickets sold).
Two days after May and Marquez were originally supposed to fight, on July 20, it's announced that Pac will fight Cotto. Had the Mayweather vs. Marquez fight not been pushed back, could have Pac vs Mayweather been negotiated in time to avoid the elections?
Mayweather vs Marquez happens on Sept 19.
Pac vs. Cotto happens Nov. 14.
Pac had 6 months between the Hatton and Cotto fights. Six months after Nov. 14 is roughly May 1, the date I believe Arum was the first to announce. Is Pac on a 6 month schedule? That might explain the May 1 date that was announced (and Arum probably wasn't thinking about the elections). Had Mayweather fought in July like he was supposed to, then 6 months later, the fight with Pac could have happened in January. Plenty of time for the elections after.
But anyways, I'm starting to realize that even though Pac, Roach and Arum are on the same team, it's obvious they do and say what is vital to each of them. So there's gonna be contradictions.
One other thing, all this talk about fear is way overboard. I'm in agreement with people who say this is all about ego. You don't think Pac who is a worldwide superstar and plays basketball during training even when Roach says don't and makes movies while preparing for what many thought would be his toughest challenge, would pick to fight Mayweather when he feels like it if it were all left up to him? It's pretty obvious the guy has his own mind and does what he wants (he picked Cotto on his own and I remember Roach was like "Whoa" at first because it seemed like it was a risky fight at the time).
If Pac wins the election and retires, then you can say he's ducking. But if Manny decides to fight in Sept or after the elections, then tough cookies. Mayweather has done whatever the hell he wants as well.

Bob wants his tens of millions, not that I blame him, I would do the same if I were in his shoes.

The doctors have said it is just some bleeding from the outer ear. Pac does NOT have a ruptured eardrum.
You don't go performing at loud concerts with a freshly ruptured eardrum.

Arum said...
"you can make the argument that because he is running for office Manny can't fight May 1 BUT YOU CAN'T LOGICALLY WITH A STRAIGHT FACE MAKE AN ARGUMENT WITH MARCH 13"

We’re talking about the same mayweather who came right out after the cotto fight, and said many would be easy work…..then he went on to sign the deal to fight him, after what, a WEEK of negotiations!
On the other side, you have pacman who has kept quiet….you have Freddie roach, who first says floyd would be an easier fight than cotto…..then roach says march 13th is too soon to fight a guy like mayweather, not b/c pacquiao is hurt, but b/c mayweather has a difficult style to prepare for…..WTF? then roach says 60-40 split for pacquiao gets the fight done….after the ppv numbers come out, roach says 50-50 gets it done. Then roach says they’d take the fight on march 13th, BUT FLOYD IS SCARED!!! LMAO!!! Floyd signs the deal for march, now roach wants 60-40 again, and pacquaio’s attorney has stated pacman won’t be fighting at all the first half of 2010. And bob arum has to fly all the way to the phillippines, unannounced, so he can sneak up on manny, convince him to come out from under the bed, and take the fight……
But floyd’s scared right?
TRUE STORY!!
This should be copy and pasted to EVERY Pac Stan Boy (Not Pacquiao supporters) ...but STAN BOYs!!!!..there's a differenceLast edited by Cash Cow; 12-03-2009, 11:48 AM.

Floyd is not exactly a guy who runs toward challenges. If he is THIS willing to fight Pac, it's because Floyd knows he will beat him.
Because they thought they will beat PAC
