He compromised when he didn't have to. He should of never mentioned 145. But, again even at 147 the outcome would of never changed.

Members of Team Pacquiao aren't on the same page so Manny is looking like a punk right now. You have Roach who throws out scenarios based on what he wants for Manny as a trainer. Arum is all about money; he'll say anything to get a deal signed. I doubt either has direct access to Manny to confer with the fighter about negotiations. And Manny himself, beyond avoiding trash talk, keeps mum about the whole process. So it's hard to figure out what's going on until a contract is signed by both teams.

But my gut feeling is that Roach and Manny aren't keen on fighting Floyd (aside from the money). That Floyd has quickly agreed to an even split of the revenues (if true) means he knows he can beat Manny fairly easily. No other opponent remotely provides a comparable money-to-risk ratio. In that sense Floyd needs Manny more than the other way around.

I think it's to Manny's advantage to make Floyd wait until next fall. This might force Floyd to fight another WW during the interim. Now that Ellerbe has stated/postured that Mosely is a viable option, Team Pacquiao can sit back and see how Floyd performs against Sugar Shane, if at all.

Oh, Asians especially dislike it when people force them to lose face. If Arum's comments were intended to goad/embarrass Manny into accepting a March date, I'd be very surprised if this tactic succeeds. More likely Manny and his inner circle (yes, Buboy, Konz, et al.) will refer to this bit when making future decisions.

Manny will sign the contract...i mean he used to sleep on the streets for goodness sake.

But i smell fear in Roach's comments...now he wants more time after intitially wanting the March date. PBF has them on lock, Team Pac has nowhere to hide. And i know that Floyd won't fight at 145....he'd rather leave the money than be at a disadvantage...don't forget the man already turned down 30million for DLH rematch for no apparent reason....

The Baldomir fight was not even on the table though. Is not like when he turned down a career high payday that he knew he would get the same amount for Baldomir. And, he also paid $750,000 for the buyout. And, Margarito had more of a fanbase than Baldomir so at the end Floyd would of gotten more with Margarito. But, not only was Baldomir the lineal champ he was also an easier fight.

Margarito was not big at the time, fresh from a fight with a guy named Gomez that did only 35k ppvs. (thats right-- 35k ppvs)

the Margartio situation was more of a situation between Floyd and Bob, rather than Floyd and Margarito.

Floyd was looking to make a fight with Oscar and Bob could not control the situation.

This is the same bob who told Floyd that he would never get 20 mil with Oscar (who arum hated at the time).

Floyd needed a fight to set up the Oscar fight, so......

Floyd tried to get Mosely (tooth situation), then Spinks (at 154), then settled on Baldomir because Floyd had guys like Brian kenny blasting him for not fighting Baldomir (who was the Man) who just beat Judah, then Gatti ( and also had the Cinderella man story going for him) .
