  • I'm a Pac fan and even I think there will be too many excuses if Pac fights and loses on the 13th of March.

I don't know why *****s bother. Their man won't get full credit if he wins on the 13th, but Pacquiao will. It's a sort of lose-win situation since Floyd will still get a **** ton of money.

Arum doesn't give a **** whether Pac loses or not since Pac retires soon anyway. If the fight gets made for the 13th and Pac loses cuz of all the pre-made excuses then be damn sure there will be a rematch.

I hear what you're saying. But, if the fight landed on a Friday the 13th, then I would advise Floyd to move it to May or September 'cause he would definitely lose his "0".

      • Floyd fights somebody else early 2010 and let Pac run in the election..After the election, let them fight each other...Fair??? Both parties won't have excuses by then...

May 1st would have been fine too. Manny would have had nine days to campaign until the ballots from the election were drawn on the 10th.

If he won the fight, winning the election would be the icing on a huge cake.

          • Why is everyone missing the obvious point to be made here!!!.......a March fight date is actually better for Pacman and a disadvantage to floyd. Manny didn't take anything from Cotto that would take more than 3 weeks to recover from. Also floyd came off an 18 month layoff and obviously struggled to make 144 against JMM because he was inactive. The body has no problem moving down in weight as long as it is done frequently and correctly and the fluctuation is not massive. Once you have been laid off for a time it becomes more difficult to come down as the body is comfortable and used to the weight you have been walking around with for so long.

Also an active fighter (as long as he is not getting punished) is always going to be sharper and more on top of his game than a fighter who has been relatively incative. Manny trained very hard for Oscar and took him out without any dramas, same with hatton and he didn't take much punishment from Cotto either. He is sharp, fast and ready to go. Floyd on the other hand has had one fight in 2.5 years. He looked rusty against Marquez, and admitted as much. Personally i thought he looked very rusty. He should have been able to tko JMM within 10 rds. Judging by Floyd Sr reaction in the ring after the fight he also knew Floyd was rusty.

Floyd has no advantage at a March date. In fact as a Floyd fan i would rather see the fight in May or preferably September so floyd can take a tune up. That means 8 more weeks to train and then a fight before Pacman to sharpen his tools a little bit more.

I will say this though. If it is March i still favour Floyd. If its Sept i favour him even more.

So Pac fans stop talking trash about how floyd wants an advantage by fighting in March!!!! Pac def has the advantage if they fight then.

Also May (usually the best PPV month) was the proposed date. Floyd had no problem. Manny can't because of elections. March slated by Arum and Roach = floyd has no problem.

Personally i think Roach wants more time to study Floyd and teach Manny some new moves to counter floyds style. He should realise though that March is better for Pac. Or this could all just be posturing to hype the fight even more.

Also Pac fans don't give us that **** about DLH and roach almost beating Floyd. They lost easily, Floyd won 6 of the first 7 rounds and a minimum of 8 rds. I had it 9 rds to 3.

That makes sense. Don't forget to put down that Oscar asked for and was granted a few more advantages to secure a victory which Floyd agreed to give up.

Some folks tend to forget that.

                  • i think we all conclude and speculate on what we want to believe.
first of all, arum and schaefer were negotiating on behalf of manny and floyd, respectively.
they both agreed on something....they went back to their respective principals.
what we read is the news about arum going to see manny.
                    what about schaefer and floyd??
the press just assumed that floyd accepted the deal....but without word from floyd himself.

                    now read this other article!!
