Because he was campaigning at the wait and to see if he did fight any of those ranked fighters.

      Nunn
      Benn
      Eubank
      Collins
      Liles
      Littles

would have been good opponents for Jones. Rocchigiani he should have fought later at LHW.

To show who was on top when he entered the picture and to begin showing who he essentially ducked. Nice thread TS.

Indeed. Those guys are really missed. It's not really like looking at DLH's record. He fought'em all. Roy definetely didn't.

True that. De La Hoya never beat any of the top guys, but at least he fought em'.

Eubank, Nigel Benn, Nunn, Barkley and Collins were great fighter? Especially Benn and Eubank were beasts? Think they were the best SMW's ever.

I figured it had something to do with the Duran fights, but if that win could launch him into a top 5 spot

right, so jones first fight at supermiddleweight was against james toney(at the end of 1994)
you could make the same argument as to why jones did'nt fight eubank and benn as to why james toney did'nt fight the two

now 1995(as the last year joens was at supermiddle)
''Two 168 belt-holders, Steve Collins and Frankie Liles, have rejected big money offers to fight Roy Jones- Larry Merchant announces'' -- And that's why roy jones then moved up in weight

also eubank openely said he was afraid of roy jones and did'nt want to fight him
