I think Roach is really the deciding factor now, he's the one saying March is too soon for the fight.

I honestly don't think that Roach has much of a say in anything aside from training.

Roach said in an interview that Pac did not talk to him at all from after the Hatton fight happened until the Cotto press tour started. They also ignored his calls during the Pac-Hatton negotiations.

The reason Manny wants the fight in early March is obviously because of the election. It would be perfect timing if he wins the fight and carry a momentum for his election. I don't think he needs it, but he did lose his last election in his own hometown. Please let this be true and hopefully Manny agrees with whatever they presented to Arum. Knowing Arum how he adores his cash cow, whatever the deal is i'm sure Arum is quite positive and happy that Manny will be happy with it and accept the deal.

Arum has done very well for Manny, as he did for Mayweather and Oscar before him. I find him far more ethical than any other promoter except Cedric Kushner. And I think I could even stretch that into managers and trainers too.

We have to remember, if any of the present day fans were around then, that boxing is only one generation away from having been held in thrall by the Mafia.

When they were in charge, almost no boxer was able to hold on to his money, even if he ever did get what he deserved. If he quit whilst he still had his senses, he had no money to speak of.

I don't find it hard to imagine that a Roach has to be taken in small quan******, with long spatial interludes.

I mean, just imagine that every day as soon as you woke up, you saw a Roach, and then, had to spend all day with him.

Perhaps the womanizing, billiards playing, acting, singing, politics etc. are Manny's antidote for Roach poisoning.And on top of it all, he has to read ridiculous nonsense spoken on his behalf, or in his name, by an unqualified Roach.

If Bob Arum is half the businessman I think he is, he'd have already spoken to Manny P. and roughed out a prospective scenario.
