I don't get it either. The self-proclaimed best fighter in the world needs to practice until "he's ready"?

Precisely. People seem to always jump on one side of the story and run with it without giving the other side the benefit of the doubt.

Freddie had already stated that Manny would need a rest and that March would be too soon to fight.

So we're supposed to now take his word that Manny has faster recovery abilities all of a sudden?

      Makes no sense at all.

After the Baldomir fight, Floyd fans said, "Now, he's gonna fight Margarito, dont worry". That didn't happen.

After the DLH fight, Floyd fans said, "Now he's gonna fight Cotto, don't worry". That didn't happen.

After the Hatton fight, Floyd fans said, "Now he's gonna fight Cotto. This time for real". That didn't happen. He retired.

Floyd announced he was coming back, Floyd fans said, "Now he's gonna fight Cotto, Mosley, Pacquiao, he's back to fight the best" and what? He chose to fight JMM and now another tune up.

I mean seriously, all Floyd has showed us is that he's interested in doing the least amount of work for as much money as possible. thats it.
A fair point. Floyd has disappointed expectations in the past to a certain extent. But, this much sheer money has never been on the table for a fight before. I truly think that the financial windfall involved here will convince Floyd to accept this fight as a win, or lose-but-cash-out-of-boxing scenario.

I don't like these mindsets, but I'm pretty sure that's what is being considered. "What if I lose? Will it be worth it?" In the end, the answer will be YES, given the amount of bank that will be involved in the fight. He, at this point, is just trying to get the best deal possible for himself before he takes that plunge into the deep end, whether sink or swim.

Mayweather has showed alot of interest in fighting in the U.K and as I've said, a fight of this Magnitude deserves more then 3 months of promotional time.
Floyd is always in the gym, or staying current with his athleticism. That's part of who he is. But, Imo, the rest is just posturing while he tries to maneuver this situation.

Freddy said he "would like" to see Manny rest. Manny said he's ready. Manny's word > Freddy's word.

Manny wants the fight in March. Floyd wants a tune up in March. Black and white.

What makes you think the various Mayweather sources aren't part of the overall hustle?

Roach does it for Pac all the time.

Ah yeah, that makes it even worse.

"Who's the greatest? Floyd Mayweather Jr is the greatest fighter of all time. Nobody can beat my style. No disrespect to those great fighters of the past, but I'm better than Leonard, he had losses. I'm greater than Ali. He had losses, too. I'm the greatest of all time. But hold on a second, I just need to practice a bit first." ~ Floyd Mayweather Jr.

So far, we've only seen or heard Freddie saying anything.

Can you provide a link where Manny, in his own words, is asking for the fight in March?

I'll stand corrected if I hear Manny saying it in his own words.

you read the article mindbit. Even Bob has confirmed that Pac wants the fight in March. There is no spin to this. fight is available in March. If Floyd doesn't take it because he wants an easier fight, its inexcusable.

Its cool to be a fan, but cmon. you guys HAVE to put your foot down sometime.
