The 30-year-old was already breaking new ground when he beat Miguel Cotto, on November 14, to win a world title in a seventh different weight division. It was after that victory at welterweight that he said that he believed his ascent through the weights had come to a natural end. However, Roach clearly has other ideas — and Pacquiao tends to follow his advice.

“The Mayweather fight is the fight the world wants to see,” Roach said. “It’s going to be the biggest pay-per-view fight of all time. But I think we will fight one fight before that.”

Roach said that Pacquiao’s schedule will be constructed around his political ambitions and the elections in the Philippines on May 10. “But there is a March date for him to fight,” Roach said. “People think I am crazy but I want him to win his eighth title against Yuri Foreman at 154lb. That’s my idea — then fight Mayweather in September. And then retire.”

Now Burner is spamming the boards! LOL

Maybe he doesn't have any other ideas how to stem the tide of opinion that FLOYD IS A FRAUD!

Remember the Marquez bout was supposed to happen in July in time to make a match-up with Manny later this year. That ended up getting pushed back and everything has gotten messed up. It seemed as though May-June was going to be the date for Floyd-Manny according to Roach, however, now Camp Pac seems to believe that it should be in March now instead.

I wouldn't blame Floyd for not taking it in March if he didn't feel he'd be ready, just like I wouldn't be mad at Manny for wanting to delay it til May because he don't feel fully healed from the Cotto fight.

I thought Team Gayweather said Manny would be one of Floyd's easiest fights ever!? Don't see why he would need another tune-up then.

Negotiations people. Calm down, until one of the two announce a fight against someone else, everything can be assumed as negotiations.

So we're supposed to now take his word that Manny has faster recovery abilities all of a sudden?

              Makes no sense at all.
It's not that Pac has faster recovery abilities all of a sudden, it's the fact that Pac wants to fight in March although advised not to by Roach just because he can't do it in May because of his candidacy. Just that fact alone should make Pac more respectable in the public's eyes. It just means that he really likes to fight even if he's not fully recovered.

I don't get it how people could twist this thing as if Pac doesn't want this fight. If he didn't want it, he wouldn't even be mentioning a fight in March. IMHO, I think he wants it more. It doesn't matter what Roach said before that he THINKS Pac can't fight in March. Pac is the boss, he has the final word and his final word is in March although some would think it is too early for him. Team Pacquiao has already stated their case and reasons, Mayweather hasn't yet and I honestly can't see why he can't fight in March, I wonder why.
