Comments Thread For: Weights: Roy Jones Jr 179.5, Danny Green 179.2

The weights are in for Wednesday's clash between Roy Jones Jr. and IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green. Something interesting caught my eye in the weigh-in results and maybe I didn't notice this in the pre-fight hype. There appears to be a 180-pound catch-weight agreement. Both fighters came in way under the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds. The catch-weight is certain to give Jones a big advantage in speed, movement. Green weighed 179-180 in his last two outings so the weight will not be that big of a factor for him. [Click Here To Read More]

If the weigh-in happened right now, I'm guessing the fight will televised on a tape delay.

I'm not sure if there was a catchweight. Green is simply no cruiserweight and performs at his best at 168-180 pounds.

I think any talk about this fight being a legit cruiserweight title fight should drop now. The match could very well be fought at LHW.

Anywhere between 175-200 is Cruiserweight, Danny Green usually fights in this range, its not a catchweight.

That's because freddy roach and bob arum weren't involved.

They agreed to weigh no more than 180-pounds. 20-pounds under the full cruiser limit. That's a catch-weight mate.
