Oscar is the one who picked the 147 limit against Pac. Not Pac. You know Oscar is the one who calls the shots. So Pac did not pick that weight.

I think with Cotto it was that they knew Cotto was more dangerous. So they didn't know how the weight would of effect them against a true top 3 WW. But, now that the fight happened IMO is that they feel comfortable and they see that they candle carry the weight pretty good.

And, the title is legit. Chavez-Whitaker fought at a catchweight of 145 for the lineal WW title. Everybody saw it as a legit WW title fight. Nobody gave a damn about the catchweight.

BTW, Oscar wouldn't have even stood a chance at 154. Anyone who can't see the difference in skill is a ****ing moron.

PS: Manny weighed in at 142 for Oscar. First time he'd been past 135.

Foreman is the weakest champion and has no power.

Its more of a principle thing in terms of negotiations.
I think Pac would have beaten Oscar or Cotto regardless of weight, but it seems hypocritical fight at 154 with Foreman given his past negotiations techniques.

nobody gave a damn because making whitaker meet in the middle wouldnt be an issue, nothing would be taken away from him by doing so because he wasnt known to blow up crazy between fights. You had the number 1 140lb champ against the number 1 welterweight champ, thats why they met in the middle.

I agree he's the weakest champion but you cannot take the fact that he's still a champion. Meaning Yuri went through the proper channels to get a legitimate belt.

valid point witht he Oscar comparison, and I just feel like with the Cotto fight to move up after that fight seems to be taking advantage of the negotiations.

Did Cotto blow up crazy in between the Clottey fight and Pac fight?

Pac Cotto was the #1 140lb champ against top 3 at worst arguably the best WW. So what is the difference?

agreed, though Santos looked like **** and was inactive for over a year. Im just saying Pac always says he wants to fight the best and takes on all challengers and moving up to 154 to fight Yuri Foreman instead of taking on Floyd, Mosley or a more legitiamte challenger at 154 is contradictory to what he supposedly represents.
Do you think there is any other reason to fight Foreman than to get an 8th alphabet title?
