  • It has been known for a long time now that Pac wanted to run for public office, he actually did run 3 years ago but lost. That he is filing again this year shouldn't really be a surprise. Maybe it was good timing on Pac's part 3 years ago but most boxing fans didn't notice his absence while campaigning. The problem now is that this pac-floyd fight is so keenly awaited and the elections are looming to knock out potential fight dates. That being said, this fight will be so big that it probably gets made anyway as both fighters cannot find a comparable financially rewarding fight anywhere else. Assuming the election related activities of Pac end (win or lose) by June 15, tag on necessary training and media build up for the fight, we can still reasonably expect the fight next year. I'm cool with that as I just want to see the fight (although I got Pac)

I still think the deal breaker that is out there is the purse sharing, 50/50 to me is fair (45-45, winner of fight takes extra 10 would probably ensure a more spirited fight though). I dont think the weight is an issue anymore but if I hear that there is already an agreed purse (which doesn't concern me, I ain't getting a cut) then it's time to stock up on drinks cause we are ON!

      try again!
Actually Hatton called out Floyd, all while knowing he was a Welter weight. Floyd did not seek out Hatton, Hatton sought out Floyd. So I don't know if it's fair to say he made him jump up in weight. Floyd simply accepted his challenge.

      • If floyd agrees to 55/45 for Pac or even 50/50, Pac will fight him immediately, election or not.

          pacquiao is dumb.
dumb is too harsh a word for a guy who's done so much for boxing. i know he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but certainly the most productive. I'd say he's just confused, with all these things happening around him. ****, i'd go nuts with all that money!

          • It's alway been that way, floyd wants those smaller than him to call him out and he readily agrees. Listen to what he says on his interview.

But if elite WW calls him out, he chickened out and give so many excuses.

Something does not right with this. In one of Roach's previous interviews he pretty much said that Pac needed time for his ear injury to heal. He also stated that he would need additional time to prepare for Mayweather, because he has such a different style (from Cotto). So which is true?

LOL Floyd already won a title at 154. And no I dont think Floyd would fight Paul at 154. Floyd doesnt fight at 154 and hes not claiming to..????...Lets see Pac fight Pwill instead of cherry picking Yuri Foreman at 154 then you can talk.

LOL acting like Yuri Foreman is Pwill please.

Forget about me for a second, you think Bert Sugar lacks credibility? Brian Kenny? Dougie Fischer, or RA the rugged man who has written a book along with Dougie Fischer about the history of the sport. These are individuals who are either boxing historians and/or professional journalists paid to cover the sport of boxing, not amateur boxing forum posters with an opinion based on "fandom", they are all of the same mind/opinion that "your boy" refuses to challenge himself. I'm not comparing Yuri Foreman to PWill. I am saying Pac is the type of boxer who seems to want to challenge himself, "your boy" wants to fight Matthew Hatton...why not just fight Henry Brusles again?

My contention is simple, Pac takes tough fights and challenges himself. Let me ask you a question. Pac is willing to fight for a title at 154? If Paul Williams presented an opportunity for Floyd at 154, would you without the blinders on, realistically think Floyd would take that challenge? What does he have to gain by fighting Matthew Hatton? I give Floyd credit for having talent. I also think he is doing himself and his talents a disservice by not taking on tough fights.
Not a good example because if Williams presented an opportunity for
Pac at 154 would he take it? Pac is willing to move up to 154 and
fight a relatively unknown fighter BUT not move up to 147 OFFICIALLY
to fight Cotto and now Floyd? I think YOU have the blinders on because
Floyd said tell Pac to holla! But he's not. Freddie says he wants the fight
with Floyd to be in May and not March for Pac to heal properly and get ready
for Floyd's style BUT now Pac has to run for elections? Didn't Pac say
"I want to fight Floyd next"? Seems to me that Pac is trying to get
around a fight with Floyd OR Arum and Roach are trying to avoid it?
Because like BHOP said "Arum don't want to make the fight" Come on
guys, it's SOOOOOOO obvious that they feel Floyd is a threat, why do
you have to be a *****, nuthugger or Etc..... to see it is what it is.
I doubt highly that Floyd will fight Mathew Hatton if anything he is
going to go for Shane (Like Bhop said with the inside scoop) PLUS
it makes more sense considering after Berto, Shane will have mostly
all the belts. Freddie Roach tells the truth so much but a lot of people
on here try to disregard and not hear it to suit their opinions or arguments.
Roach has already said that he has to make Pac see what he sees
inorder for him to beat Floyd so in actuality Roach knows right now
                  Manny can't win, FACTS.

So your saying that Manny is small and not an elite fighter? I thought
everyone said Manny will KO Floyd? Looks to me like team Pac are the
ones with the excuses and chickening out in this situation BUT your not
trying to see that because it's not Mayweather doing it? COME ON SON!
