Just thought Manny was too small but he did his thing. All I'm saying
is if Manny wants to do it official with no questions asked, he should
be fighting guys like Cotto/Floyd and Mosley at 147 if he plans to
    compete at 147, not 145.
Thanks, and if you remember my older posts before the Cotto-Pacquiao fight... I really wanted that to happen at 147lbs.

But you can't have it both ways. You can't butter both sides of the toast. If you're saying Cotto wouldn't have won against Pac at 147....then why didn't he just fight him at 147? Why even ask for 143? Why settle at 145 AND make Migs put the 147 belt on the line?

I said it before, if Floyd had pulled something similar, if he'd fought someone like Foreman, Martinez, Spinks, whatever, and made them come down in weight AND put their 154 belts on the line, forget it, the Pac nuthuggers/Floyd haters would have been put on their big floppy shoes, wigs, and big red noses and straight up CLOWNED floyd. The hate on this board probably would have crashed NSB for days.

yet, Manny pulls this stunt, and he's 'challenging himself.'

Can I get a Double Standard, straight up, with a slice of WTF?
I agree with you. I always say, I don't agree with everything Floyd
does and says but can't cosign all the hate people give him but yet
give other fighters passes for doing worse. I don't understand why
people hate so much on here in regards to Floyd but keep their blinders
on with Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley and other fighters in general because
no one is perfect and I can break down numerous flaws in each fighter
and things they did or said. I believe in being fair when being critical
and giving others the benefit of the doubt. I guess Floyd likes being
the villian though but since he has been, he's been successful at it
      in his career.

      • Running For Congress?

I understand you want to help your country and all but stick to what you know. Leave the poli-tricks to the poli-tricksters. You're a boxer so box but it sounds to me like you really don't want to fight Mayweather afterall. So whose making excuses now? It's time to put up or shut up. It's too much money on the table. It looks like Bernard Hopkins was right! He said Arum didn't want this fight and that Pacquaio would end up fighting Yuri Foreman instead. That having been said, don't look for Mayweather to fight Matthew Hatton anytime soon. Hatton brings nothing to the table in terms of PPV numbers. Instead as Hopkins and Leonard Ellerbe have stated, look for Mayweather vs the winner of the Berto vs Mosley fight.

        • Pacquaio Is Roach's Meal Ticket

Although Roach has had success with Pacquaio, he is by no means a genius. Pacquaio is a good fighter to begin with. So it's not like Roach took someone who had no skill and made him a good fighter. I liken what Roach is doing with Pacquaio to what Phil Jackson did with the Chicago Bulls and L.A. Lakers. These were good teams to begin with and Jackson had to do very little to improve those teams. Like Jackson Roach gets way too much credit as far as Pacquaio is concerned. If it wasn't for Pacquaio Roach would probably still be living in the trailer park tweeking off hillbilly crack. :wt:

Everyone and their mother is supposed to know that Floyd ain't fighting
Matthew Hatton. Looks like Arum and Roach don't want to be outdone
by Floyd whipping on Manny (Especially Arum). Floyd is going to fight
            the Berto/Mosley winner.

            • All I know is regardless of Pac's ATG status, the legacy he already has etc etc, if this fight can be made and he doesn't take it then in the eyes of all true boxing fans it's a massive, glaring hole in his resume. A fighter at his peak walking away from his biggest challenge.

It's the biggest fight for years, with a massive purse. It's also his toughest opponent, and a win could put him right up there in the mix with some of the greatest fighters ever.

I can't see how he can possibly turn away from it, that's if he gives a **** about the fans and his own place in the sport.

The exact same goes for Floyd.

                Use your brain for once!!!

It ain't Pacman's fault why ODLH lost at 147 lbs.......it's just an "excuse" of being weight-drained why he lost his fight to Pacman...........

He fought a smaller guy.......and he is suppose to win the fight!!!

The way I saw the fight....ODLH was not weight-drained....starting from round 1 he was no match against Pacman!!! He can't match the ability of Pacman! and ODLH lost his heart early!

Even if it's 154 lbs....ODLH is no match for Pacman!!!

fight a relatively unknown fighter BUT not move up to 147 OFFICIALLY
to fight Cotto and now Floyd? I think YOU have the blinders on because
Floyd said tell Pac to holla! But he's not. Freddie says he wants the fight
with Floyd to be in May and not March for Pac to heal properly and get ready
for Floyd's style BUT now Pac has to run for elections? Didn't Pac say
"I want to fight Floyd next"? Seems to me that Pac is trying to get
around a fight with Floyd OR Arum and Roach are trying to avoid it?
Because like BHOP said "Arum don't want to make the fight" Come on
guys, it's SOOOOOOO obvious that they feel Floyd is a threat, why do
you have to be a *****, nuthugger or Etc..... to see it is what it is.
I doubt highly that Floyd will fight Mathew Hatton if anything he is
going to go for Shane (Like Bhop said with the inside scoop) PLUS
it makes more sense considering after Berto, Shane will have mostly
all the belts. Freddie Roach tells the truth so much but a lot of people
on here try to disregard and not hear it to suit their opinions or arguments.
Roach has already said that he has to make Pac see what he sees
inorder for him to beat Floyd so in actuality Roach knows right now
                  Manny can't win, FACTS.
Nice post i agree with it mostly, I do think that they r running from May it seems like the only person willing to commit is Roach IMHO neway while Manny is tryin to not seem lik he dont want the fight

NOT 145 to show how really good he is. Not taking anything away from
Pac because I do like his style of fighting but some act like Pac is this
Phenom but homie just beat a prime 147 fighter at 145 for a 147 WW belt?
Why did Mayrunner fought Marquez at 147lbs instead of their agreed catchweight at 144lbs???

                    • even before pacquiao announced his running for congress, chicken already hinted he will not fight pac.

he's just too scared to fight a real warrior! now, chicken floyd has set his eyes on matthew hatton, not bad for chicken floyd. anyway, the brits will go all out for matthew even if the brits knew chicken floyd will beat matt with one hand.

they are loyal to their countrymen but im pretty sure they will not wager their houses to for matthew. they cannot be fooled twice.
