Why did Mayrunner fought Marquez at 147lbs instead of their agreed catchweight at 144lbs???

Apparently he could not make the 144 pound catch weight limit. So he weighed in at a 146, and paid the 6 hundred thousand dollar fine. Do you think the result would have been different at 144 pounds?

I for one will not say the result would be different. But the complexion of the result would definately be different. If you want what the champion has, you should go and get it, on the same terms. In other words, Cotto did not win his title at a catch weight. So why play in the welter weight division if the welter limit is something you feel is not for you. The P4P title was created for Sugar Ray Robinson, he never demanded any catch weights.

Forget about me for a second, you think Bert Sugar lacks credibility? Brian Kenny? Dougie Fischer, or RA the rugged man who has written a book along with Dougie Fischer about the history of the sport. These are individuals who are either boxing historians and/or professional journalists paid to cover the sport of boxing, not amateur boxing forum posters with an opinion based on "fandom", they are all of the same mind/opinion that "your boy" refuses to challenge himself. I'm not comparing Yuri Foreman to PWill. Clearly youve never read anything Ive ever posted on here because Ive said a million times I want Floyd to fight Mosley, Cotto(before), and Pac and im not down with someone else unless say he went up to 160 and fought Sturm for a belt(similar to what Manny is doing at 154).

Everyone wants the Pac fight and Floyd is down to do it. Everyone but Pac. If I was such a Floyd fanboy like you say I would be calling Pac a ***** and a ***** and try to discredit him(kind of how you do Floyd) but I dont stoop to that level and realize there are reasons fights are made or not made at certain times(although I dont see this fight getting any bigger than now).

While I dont agree with the fight being delayed because of Mannys run for congress if he wants to do so its not my business. Ill tell you this though Im not going to hold it against Floyd. Hers trying to make it happen and if it doesnt he has every right to take a tune up and stay sharp if he wants. Id love to see him fight someone tougher than Matt Hatton but fighting him in the UK with probably net him alot of cash and hes just killing time and not risking the Pac fight, which is smart.

A biased hater like you will talk **** saying Floyd wont take tough fights and he should fight Pwill at 154 knowing he A. Doesnt fight at that weight and B. Use the fact that he wont move up to fight Pwill at 154(which has never really been a option)to fit your agenda that Floysd doesnt take tough fights and completely ignore the fact that he is the one trying to fight Pac(the fight the world wants to see). Your right Floyd should just stop negotioations and fight Pwill at 154 so then you can say Floyd ducked Manny. Which one is it?

So again, since Mayweather and Pac are fighting the same people and are now fighting at the same weight, why dont you ask Manny to fight Pwill at 154 instead of Yuri Foreman?

Pac has been trying to do this well before the fight with Floyd was even brought up.

All I know is regardless of Pac's ATG status, the legacy he already has etc etc, if this fight can be made and he doesn't take it then in the eyes of all true boxing fans it's a massive, glaring hole in his resume. A fighter at his peak walking away from his biggest challenge.

It's the biggest fight for years, with a massive purse. It's also his toughest opponent, and a win could put him right up there in the mix with some of the greatest fighters ever.

I can't see how he can possibly turn away from it, that's if he gives a **** about the fans and his own place in the sport.

The exact same goes for Floyd.

even before pacquiao announced his running for congress, chicken already hinted he will not fight pac.

he's just too scared to fight a real warrior! now, chicken floyd has set his eyes on matthew hatton, not bad for chicken floyd. anyway, the brits will go all out for matthew even if the brits knew chicken floyd will beat matt with one hand.

they are loyal to their countrymen but im pretty sure they will not wager their houses to for matthew. they cannot be fooled twice.

I maybe biased against floyd but there was a reason why. All his trash talk about wanting to fight and later on do the opposite and make excuses has made me cynical of all his pronouncement. He has been doing it for several times already i don't understand why you people still keeps believing him. It would be understandable if you people still gives him the benefit of doubt if he really does do what he says sometimes but most oftentimes he doesn't aside from all his contradictory statements.

There are just a few people here i've read whom i can truly say are unbiased but to those people here who says they are unbiased is just like floyd declaring himself he is the greatest and the best out there without even fighting the best but just belittling other boxers by trash talking.

Mayrunner did not intend to make 144 in the first place........it's unprofessional. He cherry-picked a fighter that is no match for him....

JMM looks like a sick person with edema at 144........ and he's tooooooo slow!

It would be different if JMM was at 140lbs ......but his ideal weight is 135lbs while the DuckRunner's ideal weight is 147lbs......that's a 12lbs difference!!!
