Anyone remember this Miguel Cotto?

Cotto was always a beast. Even when he fought Pac. He was like a scarred battle worn tiger. He wasn't as ferocious, but he was more experienced and wiser. Cotto is a smarter fighter now.
I laugh at people who think he can't fight elites anymore. Cotto will beat Mosley up if they fight again. I still think he'd destroy Mayweather since his style is bad news for Floyd.Comment

Maybe some people forget how much a beast Cotto was at 140, weight drained and when he was healthy at 140. He was quick, strong and rentless. Look at this fight againest Kelson Pinto, Cotto was straight beast.
Even though he still has speed at 147, he looks like he lost a step or two since his 140 days. But he was a beast back in the day.
Cotto looked great because Evangalista made sure he was prepared for every fight. Look what happened when he left Evangalista, he looked like crap against Clottey and Pacquiao.Comment

Which one is it?
Everytime he got hurt at 140, cotto fans attribute it to him having to make 140. Now he lost a step at 147.
You cant pick & choose great fights he had at 140 & say wow he's a beast against pinto but when he gets hurt by torres ohh he was weight drained.
How many times have I read he is so much better getting out of 140. Now this?
cmon brah.Comment

That's not the first time he says that.
This guy got wobbled by Corley badly, taken to the hospital even in his win vs Judah, played runaway bride against Mosley for 5 rounds, got battered and quit against Margarito, struggled and arguably lost to Clottey, got ****d by a former Straweight, yet he could beat Floyd Mayweather -_-
Maybe he meant Senior?Last edited by Kevin Jesus; 11-30-2009, 04:20 AM.Comment

Yeah, I agree. A new trainer is the first step and I will be disappointed if he kept Joe as the head [which I feel he will do]. I think he needs to work on his right hand to make it another weapon, when you have two hands someone really needs to worry about you become even more dangerous. And I notice againest Margarito and Pacquiao he was more intent on going to their head instead of hitting the body more. His jab is a thing of beauty but I feel he relies on it too much, though i think recently everything is mental with him and just needs to be tweaked with a new trainer.Comment
