Is Mayweather "fresher" than Pacquiao?

i would say so. but not by much
coz floyd always gets roughed up in every fight hes in
even though hes defensive he still gets hit
hes never been in a "War" but hes been in "FIGHTS"
i dont think it'll matter tho.. coz manny is a tough cookieComment

I totally disagree. We are looking at Manny against opposition with ? marks. The only real fight he's had is against Cotto. The rest are getting over praised and made a big deal because he was suppose to lose. But let's pay close attention to the condition of their opponents. That applies to Floyd also, fighting Marquez, which was 17lbs higher than his usual weight. I think it's an even playing field for both. Mayweather win against Hoya is underrated and much more impressive if the conditions are looked at in an unbiased manner.Comment

Yes, tough fights definitely take a toll. But, so does inactivity, eventhough Floyd stayed in great shape during his near 2 year hiatus, and also, I think Floyd's complacency in the ring has become a habit for him. When pondering about the upcoming match up between Mayweather & Pacquiao I can't help but think about the 2 fighters individual paths that lead them to this point. Manny Pacquiao has 55 professional fights with a total of 305 Rounds boxed. Floyd Mayweather has 40 professional fights with a total of 287 rounds boxed.
Obviously Mayweather has been in very few physical wars due to his defensive style, and Pacquiao has been in many entertaining wars throughout his career. Although Manny is 2 years younger he has been in more fights and more physically demanding fights due to his offensive style. So my question is will Pacquiao's wear and tear throughout his career play a part in the outcome of this fight once the leather begins to be exchanged? ie: cuts, bruising, punch resistance...etc etc
Thoughts?
Floyd's been accustomed to fighting people atleast two levels below him, it's not that easy to just one day say, okay, I'll be doubling my activity for this upcoming fight, when he has been havin' it easy for how many years now.
And, it's crazy to think, but if and when Floyd steps in the ring against PAC, he'll be 33 freakin' years old. It just seemed like yesterday he was making a punching bag out of Diego.Last edited by NYU Alum.; 11-30-2009, 12:37 AM.Comment

he was terribly top heavy, very slow on his feet. Marquez looked bloated and just isn't a welterweight. FFS he's not even a lightweight. Look at his frame in the second fight with Pacquiao, the man is a featherweight.Comment

A boxer can age anytime over 30 in the ring. Pac has been fighting actively since 1995(about 16), he has had numerous slugfests. If he fights PBF he will be around 31.5 years old but not a young one. But Pac dosent have an Opponent that will test him physically much, as PBF will pot shot and move alot. This is why I think Mosley would be a bigger challenge to Pac. Shane dosent mind taking shots and doing exchanges. Mosley has NEVER been KOD or i think has only 1 official KD with Forrest. Mosley has more power than FLoyd. Floyd was a beast at 130 and 135 but relies more on skill than strength to win.
The best defense against pac is a good offense paradoxically. So PBF may choose his spots carefully. PBF did brawl with Sosa and Chavez in his early days and seemed to get more physical when Corley put him on ***** street.Comment
