I too was a bit stunned by the draw. However, all of the people that I watched the fight with agreed with me. 1.Ali Funeka did not win the fight so much as he was basically handed the bout. That clash of heads should have been counted a clash of heads after the 3rd round. Guzman had a tough draw for 10 rounds with a busted brow and a busted nose. 2. In a rematch Guzman would outclass Funeka just look at the first 2 rounds, Funeka was landing about 8 punches per round. I don't think that Guzman fought enough to merit a draw, but then again maybe Funeka with the advantages in his favor didn't do enough himself to merit the win, so it goes both ways.

1. if he was handed the bout he should of won.
2. would is the key word. why he did not do it the first time??

I was thinking the same thing. All 8 of the Dominicans were saying Nate robbed Funeka when Nate Kocked him down 2 times. Yet they defend Their Main Plantain in an obvious loss.

it is becoming much more than coincidence that golden boy promotions fighters have been on the receiving end of quite a few bull**** decisions over the past couple of years. casamayor- santa cruz, demetrious hopkins- forbes diaz - malinaggi, and now this.

They should stop having professional boxing in Canada all together. It is clear that the referees don't know what they are doing as witnessed in Bute/Andrade 1. and last night clearly showed that the Judges do not have a clue as to how to score a fight. That fight was not even close, easily 9 rounds to 3 and to score it a draw is insane.

they should punish these judges for making such a big joke of the sport. everybody saw how one-sided the fight. even a kid knows better. i feel sad because boxers put their lives to fight and get robbed. i hope we come up with some laws protecting the fighters and punishing abusive judges like the ones involved here.
