if that award-giving body truly recognize the awardee's accomplishments, it should give that award nonetheless. its sincerity in giving recognition to indiividuals would be appreciated by the people but taking the awards back because of the awardee's no-show leave a bad taste in the mouth.

i don't think pacquiao need that award either.

It's not the first time Pac 'snobs' an award from a certain group. If i remember correctly, he was chastised heavily by the sportswriter association of the Phils when he did not show up too in Manila to receive his sportman of the year award. Until now, one sportwriter columnist of a leading newspaper in the Phils is still so bitter of him.

The reason Pac snubbed that award was he got hooked playing pool in my town.

Some people in the Phils have this notion of self-importance and very prevalent with government officials like that ambassador.

That's why the Phil. government is a joke as the people running it are clowns!
