Boxing is so dead

Well, I hope I didn't offend you any as my intents and purposes were not meant to bash MMA so to speak, only to show that boxing has never gone anywhere, and imo, never will. I've got to deal with some younger cousins all the time who are constantly trying to throw **** in my face about MMA.
The fact that they're talking about erecting an entirely new building for this fight to me at least, is incredible and got me really excited.
But yea, I tripped out when I first learned that very early boxing was basically MMA.
Boxing shares a trait that endears so many people to other more popular sports and games. It's that boxing is easy to learn but nearly impossible to master. It's what endears the sport to people and what makes it easy to enjoy. MMA at face value may seem like just 2 men in tights flailing away at each other but is actually far more complicated, which results in loss of entertainment value and the misunderstandings people have of it today.Comment

You're right. Boxing has never gone anywhere and never will. Even in 200 years i dont think MMA will ever surpass boxing as a spectator sport for 1 simple reason.

The more I simply watch MMA, the more I see and learn about the techniques involved.
Its a great sport in its own right as you have to be imo, a jack of all trades as compared to a master of one.
Or, in other terms,
like watching two different animals fight and try to impose their will on the other.
I'd love to go see an event live some day, but their tickets are just so damn expensive compared to boxing.
I seen both Izzy Rafa fights, I and III for 300 bucks, and thats including my wife going with me, and we had awesome seats.
When I checked out prices for an MMA event, **** was like 125 a head.Comment

But looking back at it now seems like a better seeing frank shamrock vs cung le for about 60-70 bucks than the 30-40 bucks i spent watching urbano antillon vs bobby pacquiao in the same arena.Comment

i really enjoy watching anderson silva, GSP, fedor, frank shamrock, even brock lesner at work...but the thing is that there are too many people who are as skilled as a cat with tape on it's back that are all in and out of those organizations...and all those damn matches...25 ****ing fight on an undercard is not clean fun when waiting for only one person to beat another up...mma is not **** all the way...just parts...now comparing it to boxing? there is no damn comparison...but as a sport and being accepted into our culture? mma has a lot of potential...Comment

There's been some pretty big mma events in san jose for roughly 60-70 a head for some decent seats. never been too interested in watching mma live because of the young drunk frat boy crowds they tend to bring in.

the fight itself was pretty good, but that ending, man!
I thought dude was done before those kicks.Comment

Hershel Walker is 100% Showtime's idea, not Coker's.
Showtime signed Walker to "liven up" the Challenger series.
Showtime is also working a deal out with SH1NE, so there's a good chance of seeing Mayorga on the Challengers as well.Comment
