Juan Manuel Marquez was not a legend at the time, and was at the bottom of the mexican boxing star food chain. He only gets a lot of love now because Barrera, Morales, and DLH got their asses kicked into retirement.

Manny Pacquio had more PPV buys after De La Hoya, but he had a better PPV opponent in Cotto than Mayweather had in Marquez. The question is how many PPV buys would Pacquaio sell against Marquez now or how many would Mayweather sell against Cotto now. That is the only way to make a fair comparison.

skewing facts...altering statistics, id swear this place was a poilitical forum as opposed to a boxing forum.

the thing is Mayweather fought them first, If Pacman fought them before Mayweather did. Its diff story.

the reason is, Money got to them first the exception is JMM. And they lose, that drop there valuability in ppv with the casual fans. If Manny got to them before Money did, that number would be diff.

And the answer is (drum rolls): Time.

It's also the reason why Pacquiao's 1990s losses don't matter in 2009 anymore.

I already answered this. How well they do depends on how marketable they are, what kind of performance they gave, how fan-friendly their fighting style is, etc. Of course it would be dumb as hell to suggest everyone who ever fights Oscar will become a megastar.
