  • Miguel Cotto's Return Eyed For June in New York

According to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, former champion Miguel Cotto may return in his favorite position - headlining a June event on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York. Arum plans to meet with Cotto and his team in the near future to discuss the plans for 2010. First, Cotto needs to recover from the beating he took against Manny Pacquiao on November 14. [details]

Oh, snap. Awesome!! Even though I'm a Pacquiao fan --there should be a rematch at 147.

Being a fan of both, this would be huge in NY especially on the eve of the PR Parade

The promoter Bob Arum will meet with the group of Miguel Cotto to discuss the future of the boxer.

According to executive director said to Primera Hora Top Rank, Cotto plans are to return to the ring in June on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York.

"First, Mickey needs a long period of rest so forget boxing for a while. Then we will sit down to talk about possible opponents, but the idea is that summer is fighting again, "Arum said by telephone.

He also said that the new Yankee Stadium would be ideal, but neither ruled out Madison Square Garden.

"If there is an agreement to make the event at Yankee Stadium, the ideal would be to have Michael with Juan Manuel" Juanma "Lopez on the same card. Both need to fill the place. But if it's at Madison Square Garden, would be Miguel alone, "said Arum.
