Was Miguel Cotto At His Best When He Faced Manny Pacquiao?

Cotto has never looked faster than he did in the early rounds of the fight.

The only thing I could see that was off is that he didn't look as strong as he did in the Mosley fight, but he had the same look he had in the Margarito fight.

How do u guys know this??? cotto looked very sharp and fast in the early rounds but pac was just too much for him..

I'm giving Cotto the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the Margarito fight did take something out of him.

That being said, Pac would've done the same to any version of Cotto. I don't even think Pac himself was at his best with his knee injury, camp distractions etc..

Cotto looked ripped at 145, and he was quicker than he usually is. Against Clottey and Jennings he was slow.

I'd say he was about 90% at his peak.

You have to say he was.

He simply just fought a better Manny Pacquiao than anyone had faced prior. It wasn't like Cotto didn't land shots either. Some of those blows he hit Pac with would've made whomever Cotto fought think twice about throwing again. Unfortunately for Cotto, Pac's got a high thresh hold for pain.

I think we've seen the very best Cotto we'll ever see, and that's not a bad thing to say really.

there was and is no point in cotto's career where he could have changed the outcome of that fight...

No he was not at his best. Still an elite fighter but not at his best.

He peaked during the first 6 rounds of the PlasterCheato fight IMO.

His power, combinations and savy were amazing to behold then.

it's easy to look amazing against an inferior opponent.

look at how pacquiao looked against cotto. easy to look good against guys way beneath you in level.

Cotto looked in great shape.

He should of fought a smarter fight against Pac though, He should of tried sticking to his boxing instead of going fire with fire against Pacquiao.
