You picked a bad GIF to try and discredit Hopkins. It's hard to get past all those "punches" to even notice the headbutt.

there was literally no one hopkins could of ducked in his weight division(middleweight) as there was no one there, as everyone moved up, B-Hop stuck around
lightheavy tho, he seems to be more than willing to avoid a couple of peeps

Hopkins should of had either 2 points docked for the constant Clinching and fouling or been dq.

here hopkins is basically saying, why should i have to fight the bigger guys when i can fight the smaller guys instead. Notice how he uses the number 190 lbs when talking about lhw, the amount that lhw's will rehydrate up to come fight night.

Notice here how hopkins says the jmw only have to move up 6 lbs, when according to his earlier logic, they would have to move up to 170 lbs, which is the weight hopkins will be come fight night.
Everytime hopkins was offered a fight with a bigger guy he always priced himseld out, whether it was with jones, toney or calzage

when hopkins was forced to move up after back to back losses to jermain taylor he chose tarver, a fighter who had to move down 45 lbs to make weight. After beating tarver hopkins has refused to fight another lhw instead
he has fought the following opponents:

Winky:who had to move up two divisions, calzaghe: Who had to move up one division, pavlik: Who had to move up two divisions and now ornelis who hass to move up one division.

The fights hopkins tried to make pwill(smaller), froch (smaller) and tito rematch (smaller).

When fights are offered, with guys more his own size like dawson and ademek he prices himself out.

Hopkins critising floyd for fighting a smaller opponent, notice he says that marquez was at a disadvantage because floyd was bigger than him

god bless bernard hopkins the midget basher.
            real talk slopkins=disgrace

most fighters aren't at fighting all year round
Allen fight before Hopkins he weigh in 164. That is a fact.

He fought Calzaghe in the end. When he was 43 mind you. He was at a bigger disadvantage fighting Joe when he did than if it had been earlier in his career, Joe moving up 7 pounds was a negligible advantage to B-Hop.

James Toney fought at cruiserweight and up from .......... 1997 onwards
He needed to fight Jones to win the vacant ibf belt. He had plenty of opportunities to move up to lhw for a rematch, 60/40 (which would of been around 3m) in Jones favour was more than fair. Demanding 50/50 was Hopkins way of getting out of it.
He could of called Toney out, when Toney was fighting at smw or lhw, Toney ducks no one. He eventually did after Toney beat Jirov and on the day the contracts were to be signed he pulled out. This was after Toney allowed him to take the lions share of the purse.

Turned down Calzaghe offer of the then career high purse for 3m, on the day of the signing he demanded an extra 3m. Hopkins would go on to fight Hakkar for much less money.

If your division is a barren wasteland, why stay there? Why not move up? Especially when Hopkins had admitted himself to struggling to make the mw limit.

Who cares if Tito won title at 160? That was not his best weight.
                      Pavlik weighed 160 by fight-time?
NO...so he wasn't "moving up" 10 pounds. Fighters tend to gain 10 pounds by fight-time. You see where I'm going with this?
If anything, you can show up healthier than having to drain yourself to make weight for the scales.

Hopkins is OLD. Past prime for many years now. Want to see Hopkins at his best, watch footage prior to Tito.

Pavlik is lucky that wasn't a young/prime Hopkins in there.

So should we start discussing other "ATG" fighters that have fought smaller men...even past prime fighters?
