A Showdown Looms: BoxingScene’s Pound for Pound Top Ten

    By Cliff Rold - Pacquiao.

    Mayweather.

    Everyone else.

That’s the equation in boxing right now, economically and meritoriously. They are not the only great fighters of their time, but they stand above the crowd as the most accomplished, prime prize fighters of the day. It is rare that two such fighters hit the scale at the same size. [details]

Why the hell is Cotto on that list?

Id put David Haye, and all of the early leaders of the Super Six before Cotto.

I would love to see Nonito Donaire vs Hozumi Hasegawa. That would be one hell of a fight.

id put hopkins and mosley ahead of floyd anyday of the week, floyd has to be downgraded like my fellow mexicans r.marquez and i. vasquez for inactivity and cherrypicking

because cotto is a world-class boxer who just lost in an exciting fight to one of the most electrifying boxers in recent memory...haye is a decent boxer fighting boring fights against mediocre to below average boxers in a weight class he shouldnt be fighting at in the first place...

you could make an argument for abraham over cotto, sure...ward still has more to prove, and froch...well...no...

people put way too much stock into undefeated records in boxing...sure, cotto lost convincingly...twice...but he's still an elite boxer, and is deserving of a top 10 p4p ranking IMO...
